  • Ooey Gooey Adventure With Glue

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

While gluesticks might seem like the neater option, we love making messes in elementary school! These glue bottles will last us all year long as we glue resources into our math notebooks, make crafts together, and sometimes get some on our hands (and peel it off like a layer of dried skin....hopefully you remember doing the same thing as a child!)

With technology being so prevalent these days, children do not create things with there hands very often. With these glue bottles, we will allow our students to create tangible items. Our latest project was working with arrays and creating blueprints of our dream houses (and finding the area of those rooms). We were able to cut and paste those layouts to create our own design.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Huynh

  • Hip-Hip Hooray for Headphones!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for donating headphones to our classroom. While we try to be intentional about screen time at school, students use their iPads for various activities throughout the week to help assess reading and math skills. They also have many wonderful educational programs that help improve these important foundation skills.

Headphones can be put through a lot in the classroom even with the most careful procedures put in place. The daily use causes some wear and tear but we can tell that the quality of these headphones are superb and long lasting.

Our students appreciate the donation as it helps them stay focus (with an added bonus as these headphones look very cool too!)”

  • Black History Month Read

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

"Malik's Magic African Alphabet Hat" is becoming a classroom favorite among the students at our school! Thank you so much for your contribution in adding a culturally diverse book to our classroom library. This book is not only promoting literacy among our readers, but also showing them the beauty of Africa. The illustrations are eye catching as students learn about traveling through African countries from A to Z!

We are so proud to be able to share this story with our students during Black History Month.”

  • Hip-Hip Hooray for Headphones!

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

Thank you so much for donating a new set of headphones to our classroom! Our students have been so excited to use the headphones alongside their one-to-one devices in the classroom.

While we try to limit screen time in our daily lives, there are still many wonderful and engaging educational apps for our students to utilize to improve their learning. Students are able to interact with apps that improve their literacy and math skills. Now with these new headphones they are able to do so without distracting their peers.

Not to mentioned these headphones are much more durable (and stylish!) than our last set.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Huynh

  • New Year Reset of Some Classroom Supplies

    Funded Dec 28, 2022

My students were in the classroom when the items were delivered and they could not have been more thrilled. They were so excited to start using the dry erase boards and erasers and have promised to keep them in good condition. The students' work is noticeably different when using our new materials. They are proud of what they can do and are determined to participate using the materials.

I also cannot wait to use the crafting materials with the students. Our new project will the markers will be so colorful with the addition of our new markers. The hot glue gun will also provide efficiency when we do our next craft.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Huynh

  • Math Manipulatives for Marvelous Mathematicians

    Funded Aug 5, 2022

Our mathematicians started working on their measurement unit this month and could not be more excited to working with ALL the manipulatives! They are able to have actual (and accurate) gram and kilogram weights, two types of scales, and various measuring cups. With these materials in front of them, students are able to make real life connections to our class. For example, students were able to realize that the scales they were using are just like ones in the grocery store! And simple "experiments" such measuring the capacity of various liquids has been so enthralling to our mathematicians. You have brought our math class to life!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Huynh
