  • Comfy Seating

    Funded Jan 12, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our students and our classroom. The carpet that we were able to add to our classroom, with your contribution, has brightened up the room by adding color, art and a home feel and has given our students a comfortable seating choice to make. Our students enjoy reading on the carpet during independent reading time, using it to work on a math problem where they can easily use manipulatives and sitting on it when participating in small group conversations and projects. We truly appreciate your contribution and hope to utilize in the upcoming school year, as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gurevich

  • Fun Friday Games and Activities

    Funded Feb 21, 2023

We would like to say thank you for your generous donation. My students are enjoying playing the sight word games that are on various levels as well as the fun math games that you purchased for us. The students enjoy playing these games and they are also learning or getting practice with grade-level sight words as well as fractions. We are also enjoying the art supplies(people colored crayons) that have created a multitude of choices for our artwork. The notebooks have also come in handy as we had a very limited supply. We truly appreciate your support. It has made a great impact in our classroom and we grateful.”

  • Recess Games Keep Students Active, Entertained, and Prepared to Learn

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

My students and I are so happy to have recieved your donation of basketballs, footballs, jump ropes and soccer balls. Students are responsible for sharing all of the items, using them appropriately and putting them away at the end of their recess period. Each day, they express how much fun they had jumping rope, playing basketball, football and soccer. This has improved their physical fitness and has taught them responsibility. Your donation of sports equipment helps them stay active and prepares them to relax and learn for the remainder of the school day.”

  • Creating Egypt

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

My students were very excited to choose a project from a choice board that I created for them. Thanks to your support they had all of the tools/materials that they needed to create the project of their choice. Some students created a poster to show the importance of the Nile river. Others chose to pretend that they had a restaurant in ancient Egypt and they were able to create a menu using the crayon markers we were able to order. A few students decided to translate their name or a message into hieroglyphs using the templates from this project. They were eager to share their work with their classmates and very thankful for the tools they were able to use. Your support is greatly appreciated and the tools will be used during the next school year, as well.”

  • Exploring Holidays through Arts and Crafts

    Funded Sep 14, 2013

Thanks again for your generous contribution of art supplies to use when celebrating the holidays.

As you can see, the children have enjoyed making ships to celebrate Columbus Day,treat bags and symmetrical pumpkins to celebrate Halloween, and wreaths to celebrate Thanksgiving.

The children also made holiday picture frames to give to their parents as a holiday gift. They used peel and stick ornaments and shapes to decorate the frames. Then, they attached their first-grade pictures. The children were so excited to create this special memento to give to their parents in honor of the holidays and the school year.

We truly appreciate what you have done to enrich our classroom experiences.”

  • Jazz Up Our Writing Center

    Funded May 24, 2011

    September 27, 2011

    Dear Donor,

Your donation of writing tools has sparked enthusiasm in my classroom. The children are so eager to write. They have taken extra time to look over their writing pieces and use the special grading pencils for revising and editing them. The pencil grips have also been very helpful. The children are utilizing them to help them hone their handwriting skills.

This year, teachers have had to provide materials without teacher's choice money. With this in mind, and the fact that schools are facing budget issues, your donation has proven vital. We truly appreciate what you have done to support our children.

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gurevich

My students are third graders who attend public school in New York. Our classroom is a self-contained classroom with 12 students and two paraprofessionals. Also, many of the students in our classroom are English Language Learners who are working extra hard to acquire the English language, while learning skills and content across all academic areas. We also have an ESL teacher who works very hard with our ELLs to help them achieve success in the classroom.
