Lego Club and Class Supplies

Funded Dec 5, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom with your generous donation of BricQ and Spike kits from LEGO education!

All of the students were unbelievably excited to explore principles of experimental design, applications of trigonometry, statistics, and real-world uses of physics concepts through our first building activity.

Students worked in pairs or small groups to design a "2 person" bob-sled or car that would travel down the ramps shown in the photos. Each group collected data on the mass of their vehicle, the angle of their ramp, and the distance they achieved in order to engineer a winning combination of variables. The students also used data analysis and regression techniques to develop vehicles that could travel with the smallest amount of variability.

Everyone loved using problem solving techniques to learn how many different concepts related to each other.

Thank you for making these activities possible for our classroom!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Simons
