The Power of Learning How to K.I.T. (Keep it Together)!
Funded Jul 27, 2024First of all I'd like to thank everyone who has always support my scholars and my projects over the years. This project was my biggest one yet. My students and parents as well, were so grateful when the boxes arrived and they saw what it was. I had binders, dividers, and sheet protectors for every single scholar. They were able to make cover sheets for the front, and organize each subject area. I'm continuing to do binder checks weekly to clean out old material, add new. This has been a relief for parents that struggle to buy supplies and also for those that has multiple children to buy things for. I'm preparing my scholars for middle school, and the load that they will carry with them, trying stay organized from class to class.
Thank you again for your unwavering support and love you've shown to McLeod Elementary scholars!!!”

I Spy the Power to Write! Plan, Organize, Write, Edit, Revise
Funded Jun 29, 2022First of all, I would like to share how grateful I am for you for contributing to my students success. Some of the items I ordered were a heavy duty pencil sharpener, daily language practice journals for each student, motivational bulletin boards, and idiom cards.
My students were so excited when the boxes came in. They wanted to see everything and open everything. Their excitement matched mine. I hyped them up telling them about how many people wanted to help them and see them win.
Using the Daily Language Practice Journals each day has allowed me to have a running journal for each student. I get to save on paper because they each have a book to write in daily. I actually get to teach mini lessons on previous skills from previous grades. Because we go through so many pencils a day, the pencil sharpener helps with having each group with pencils ready to go daily. The motivational bulletin boards keep the students inspired and engaged. And lastly the idiom cards has bright, colorful pictures that help them learn common sayings and make a connection with them.
What I would like to do in the future is order more journals to continue building on skills my scholars may lack from pre-pandemic. I know that with continued usage, we will succeed.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Erica Joyner
