It's Journaling Time
Funded Apr 6, 2023Thank you for all the donations to our classroom. With these donated journaling materials, students are able to have more freedom to express themselves through writing and drawing. Students within the Kindergarten classroom are still learning many areas of writing. They are able to use their journaling materials to work on the formation of letters, forming sentences, and drawing out pictures that are associated to their writing.
Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. You make learning possible for the many students who are unable to afford materials needed daily within the classroom.”

Funded Jan 26, 2023Our english language learners are benefiting from these materials by have their familiar language in word next to the pictures of things we are learning about. It has also been beneficial as a teacher to refer back to the spanish posters to use that word when introducing new learning topics. It has been beautiful watching my ELL students see their language displayed in the classroom. Along with my ELL students, the other students who use english as their first and primary language have enjoyed seeing their classmates represented with their "very own posters".
Having amazing donations like the posters, flash cards, and books for our spanish speaking students have been extremely helpful to all the individuals of our classroom. Students have felt represented and other (including myself as an educator) have learned vocabulary of an unfamiliar language. These donations are more than appreciated.”

Funded Oct 26, 2022Thank you for your wonderful donation to our classroom. Students have been learning so much through play and art activities. Each resource that has been donated to our classroom has been used with intent and joy. Without donations like this, our classroom would be limited to specific activities and materials. It has been incredible watching my students grow and learn new things throughout the year. Along with that we have been able to learn about the incredible work that is done through DonorsChoose. Students know which materials are kindly and generously donated, this has been something they enjoy asking about and have even discussed what we could donate to another classroom.
Art supplies and other basic classroom needs are always appreciated, but overall the wonderful generosity has been our greatest gift. We are extremely grateful each day. Throughout this year I have been able to utilize our whiteboard markers for morning writing practice and letter formation skills. This allows students to easily correct mistakes and not have the pressure of having to see their mistake through an erased marking.”

Funded Aug 9, 2022Thank you for your generous donation. Within our classroom we are using our new chairs to finish our library nook. Students are able to adjust their chairs and relax while looking through our classroom library books. This gift has my students excited to "lounge" in the library center. As a first year teacher I am constantly adding things to my classroom, so having amazing donors like you help make that possible.
These students are always growing! With our new cozy library area student have shown more excitement to be in the library center when doing our usual center rotation routine.”
