Funded Jul 8, 2022Thank you very much for donating to my project. Many of you watch your television in your homes for entertainment. The same is happening in the classroom but our entertainment is academic based.
Most children are visual learners and the television helps make a connection to the lesson. While learning about the vowel sounds, I played a video to incorporate an animated video called Vowel Bat! I make cards with a bat symbol and the vowel. When their vowel pops up, they get to come in the middle of the carpet to represent their vowel sound. The kids absolutely love watching it and dancing to the vowels!
I use ClassDojo (a positive behavior reinforcement system). I have one student in particular who is always keeping track of her "points" to make sure she will have enough for the prize jar. This has also helped her with practicing number recognition.
Once again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Abrams
