  • SIS Student to Teacher and Staff Community Service

    Funded Nov 22, 2024

Thank you so much for funding our project. My students were so excited when they found out they would be able to present their teachers with a token of appreciation along with the letters they wrote. Many students want to be able to give a happy to their teachers, but cannot afford to.

Our goal was to have the students pay it forward. They each know the importance of being able to show your appreciation for someone else. I explained to them when writing their letters to think about how their teachers impact their lives on a daily basis.

When the teachers were presented with their letters and treats, the looks on the students' faces was priceless.”

  • Ambassadors Wanted

    Funded Sep 23, 2024

Our student ambassadors are having a positive impact on the students they mentor in a number of ways, including: how to handle difficult situations, making smart choices, being held accountable, and understanding that making mistakes is proof they are learning. In their weekly sessions, our kiddos have started to see their ambassador mentors, as peers and equals, and feel more comfortable asking them questions about their experiences.

When the ambassadors first saw the materials, they were STOKEDDDD!!!! They love snacks just as much as our little ones. The next steps for our ambassadors is to create a project where the students and their mentors talk about creating vision boards. This inspirational collage will serve as their image of the future – a tangible example, idea, or representation of where they are going." We are so blessed to have these ambassadors and to be able to provide incentives for them.”

  • An Apple a Day

    Funded Feb 2, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to our project. The majority of our students are so tech savy, so they were super excited to see the iPad. We do our best to incorporate technology into as many areas of your lessons as possible. We research and create Power Points on standards we are learning. The goal is to help increase student engagement and proficiency.

The pandemic helped students see technology in a different way and has in turn become an important part of education. This iPad benefits my students greatly. They learned so many engaging and new facts about the tornadoes and how they have impacted our school. We are so grateful for your donation.”

  • Every "Litter" Bit Hurts

    Funded Feb 6, 2024

Thank you so much for helping fund our project. Spreading kindness at our school counts and It makes our school community proud when our students show how passionate they are about keeping their school playgrounds clean. The materials that were funded were used by the students to create engaging and informative videos and flyers about keeping our school playground clean.

Unfortunately our school is faced with the challenge of trying to keep the playground clean. They have come up with suggestions on how to address the issues and many have worked. The students created and displayed flyers around the school addressing the school community's problem (litter). This project was an awesome one that helped the students build conscientiousness, empathy, and teamwork.”

  • What Time Is Lunch?

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you all so much for the donations. "What Time Is Lunch?" was a very important project to me. I teach in an area where students may not have enough food to carry them throughout the day. Sometimes what's eaten at school may be the only meal. So the snacks provided through this project help out tremendously.

When students are hungry, it's hard to focus on the work at hand. So the next steps are to make sure the students know that I am dedicated to making sure they have what they need to feel successful, without having to worry about being hungry.”

  • Mr. Clean, Mr. Clean

    Funded Oct 27, 2022

Thank you for donating to my project. In a world now where it is important to sanitize daily, these materials are going to help keep the classroom nice and safe. When the students saw the materials they were excited, because we were running low and many of the students had been out sick. It makes me feel good by being able to help keep my kiddos as much as possible.

The next steps for me is to try to teach the kids the importance of keeping hands and items clean, but not just here at school, but at home too. Maybe we can all help cut down on a lot of the sickness that's going around, especially this time of the year.”

  • Growing Gross Motor Skills

    Funded Sep 28, 2022

Thank you all so much for donating to our school's community based classroom. The resources provided have helped our students so much, especially when brain breaks are needed. As soon as I placed the materials on the floor, they immediately wanted to use them. They love them so much and are always ready to use them.

Because the students who benefit from these materials are in our community based classroom, it is important to make sure they feel safe and supported. The next steps would be for me to create a daily routine with each material, maybe in a daily rotation. This way the students can maneuver through them independently.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jones

  • Keep Calm and Experiment On!

    Funded Dec 27, 2023

Thank you so much for helping fund this project. I am so grateful to have had so much support. The students were so happy to see the materials as well as the STEM projects. Science is a very important subject. When students are introduced at an early age, it makes being able to understand the concepts a lot easier.

We will use the materials to create projects that correlate with the standards teachers are currently teaching. There's a physical and chemical changes, mixtures and solutions, and solar systems projects in the workings now. The next steps will be to create science projects that allow students the chance to dive even more into the science world.”

  • Fish and Bubbles in the Sensory Room

    Funded Jul 18, 2022

Our students are ecstatic about the bubble tube. Daily sensory breaks are apart of our students' routines, so a visit to the sensory is important. Down town and brain breaks are typically needed after academics.

Upon seeing the tube, they were stoked. They immediately loved the fish, the colors, and were mesmerized by the movement. It was a calming moment. They didn't want to leave.

The next steps are to continue to gather support for other items needed to complete our sensory room project. Our school has so many amazing teachers who care tremendously for our kiddos.”
