  • Costume for Holiday Show

    Funded Oct 19, 2024

Thank you so much for you contribution. With your help our holiday show will be spectacular. The students are so very excited to receive the costumes and accessories.

Once again, thank you for your support. Without donors like you, our theater program would not be able to do all that we do.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Silverman

  • Stage Sound Two

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my project. The speakers and other equipment will definitely enhance my students’ experience.

Your support of my programs has been fantastic. My students will enjoy learning to use equipment in many spaces as well as be able to rehearse using the equipment in my classroom.”

  • Theater Classroom Library

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you so much for your contribution. Those books will give my students more diversity in their scenes and monologues. It will also allow them to practice their reading skills. Since many of my students are English Language Learners any help in supporting their literacy is important.

Once again, thank you for your gift.”

  • Puppetry Unit

    Funded Apr 11, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my students in their puppetry unit.

This unit allowed my students to create and build their puppets. They then got to create and present a puppet show with other students in their class.

Many of the students who created the puppet shows were special education students or English Language Learners. They enjoyed the hands on creativity that this activity allowed them to do.

For some of the students who are more introverted, it gave them the opportunity to perform behind a screen. I even had one student who doesn't speak but moved his puppet on stage beautifully

    Thank you for your support.”

  • Story Stew Scripts

    Funded Jan 23, 2024

Thank you so much for your support. I purchased the story stew scripts to use with stage classroom readings.

The classes that I used them with were special education classes and English Language Learners. Reading is probably the most important skill that a school can teach its students. For many students, it is a struggle. They feel self conscious and if they can't do it, they feel less confident in themselves. However, those same students enjoy getting up on stage and reading a part. They struggle, but it's not student X struggling it's Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. They assist each other with the words. It is magical to watch my students grow. One of my colleagues told me that some of my students read more for my class than in their other classes.

Thank you for allowing me to give my students this gift.”

  • Set Pieces and Props

    Funded Mar 20, 2024

Thank you so much for your contribution to our drama program. The benches and other props were used as part of our set for our spring showcase.

For many of my students, this year is the first experience they have ever had with theater. Getting a chance to perform was a new challenge for them. And they rose to the challenge. Figuring how to move and use props and set pieces added to their experience.

Giving students the opportunity to participate in the arts is very special. Students exposed to the arts get more critical thinking skills. They learn how to speak in public and how to cooperate with others.

Once again, thank you for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Silverman

  • Costumes for Our Show

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

This project was a huge success. As part of our Winter Arts Celebration, my students performed scenes about Greek Myths and Mythology.

Adding the costumes not only impacted the audience, who felt it added to the professional look of the students, but it also impacted the students themselves. They felt that having costumes made them feel like actors. They were very excited to get dressed in their costumes and act on the "real" stage.

Most of my students have never performed before, so this helped to make their first experience a success.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Silverman

  • Old-Fashioned Sound Effects

    Funded Mar 5, 2023

My students are having a great time exploring sound effects. I have designed an entire unit where students use their creativity and imagination to create sound. These sound props have been an integral part of the curriculum. Many of my students have become more interested in how sound effects are made. This has also been a way for my students to realize that they came create without using their computers, phones or other devices. They have embrace creating sound as if they were in the Golden Age of Radio.

Thank you so much for your contribution to help me empower my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Silverman

  • Performing for Radio

    Funded Oct 13, 2022

Thank you so much for providing Radio Plays for my class to use. They are an asset to my classes. The students are currently learning about the history of Radio Plays and how sound effects were made in the past. These plays give my students the opportunity to create a radio play production. They are very excited about the process of using their voices to tell the story of the play. Most of my students are experiencing theater for the first time and getting an opportunity to see that some plays were meant to be just heard is exciting to them. I hope in the future to allow add creating sound effects the old fashioned way to my curriculum.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Silverman
