Just Pitch It
Funded Feb 22, 2024Thank you again for your kind donations to our Just Pitch It project.
Our project experienced a hurdle in that the funded pitching machine delivered had a manufacturer defect. A replacement machine was offered but apparently the same model was no longer available. We pivoted to replace the pitching machine with batting helmets and two new bats to maintain our goal of improving our hitting skills. We are so appreciative for this equipment!
We conducted a Hit-a-thon fundraiser for our team and we were able to showcase our new helmets and bats for this event and for continued use during our season. We raised significant funds for our program and we are grateful for our updated team equipment.
Sincerely,
the coaching staff at D.M. Therrell High School in Atlanta, GA”

There Are Panthers on Our Field!
Funded Sep 20, 2022I was approached to become the head softball coach late last school year. Being a coach for High school for the first time, I was overwhelmed yet delighted to share my experience with the team. Then I was notified that there needed to be more funds available for the team. I knew I had a great challenge yet rewarding challenge ahead of me.
We started the season at a slow pace, but we were moving in the right direction and began working with the young ladies, and then I saw the ladies fully engaged and concentrating on softball and the skills I was coaching. I wanted to go above and beyond to provide a healthy snack before and after each practice.
The ladies were delighted with the well-balanced water and snacks, a much-needed addition. We appreciate all you have done for the team.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Alvillar

Being a coach for High school for the first time, I was overwhelmed yet delighted to share my experience with the team. Then I was notified that there needed to be more funds available for the team. We started the season at a slow pace, but we were moving in the right direction and began working with the young ladies, and then I saw the ladies fully engaged and concentrating on softball and the skills I was coaching. Many ladies who had never played the sport before didn't have the resources, i.e., gloves, cleats, etc., to become influential team members. With the donation of the gloves, they could fulfill the complexity of batting and pitching; they were excited when they received the gloves. When our Athletic Director visited the field, he commented that he was so impressed that they enhanced their skills.
We appreciate all you have done to make this dream come true for us, our peers, and our community while playing for the school.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Alvillar
