Learning Through Play
Funded Dec 17, 2024Thank you for donating this equipment for my students. Since our class received this equipment, my students have learned how to develop the skills to participate in games of handball. The have also made tournaments within the class.
My students were excited when they saw the equipment. In fact, they collaborated to build it themselves and used it within that class. The students are proud that now they have quality equipment to practice their handball skills.
Now students are motivated to move through the units hoping to have another chance to have a handball unit.”

Funded Dec 3, 2024This Apple tv has been a game changer for our program. No longer do I have to spend time upwards of 30 mins. to set up and 30 mins. to break down when its all said and done. This takes up valuable time that can otherwise be used to teach. Also, this device enables me to maintain a stationary teaching spot so that I can have a 360 degree view of the instructional environment. I can ensure that every student is on task.
Perhaps one important aspect that helps my students stay accountable is using a screen monitoring application that is projected on big screen tv so that students are discouraged from using other screeens other than what they should be doing.\”

My students were exhilarated when they say the cart because it was allowed them to see the various kinds of equipment that they can use.”

Look at the Big Picture
Funded Nov 13, 2024First and foremost, I would like to thank you on behalf our students and myself. The big screen T.V you donated has enhanced our students' learning in many ways and as result students have new levels of engagement. For example, student groups who are struggling can get targeted support. The T.V is an important tool used as a learning station where students can revisit and reinforce content.
Also, I project learning material/ resources since some students do not have Chromebooks for various reasons. The most common is family opted out. This makes and inequitable learning environment so this makes it inclusive where all students have equal access to content.”

Also, having a bookshelf will reinforce the idea that teachers are continually learning new things to apply to instructional practices.

Funded May 10, 2024Thank you for donating the gym clock and the megaphone. My students now use the gym timer when they do circuit training. They can be safe because they can pace themselves without over exerting themselves and still meeting the instructional objective.
I use the megaphone as an instructional tool so that I can quickly provide whole group instruction , feedback, and positive praise.
My students really liked the gym timer. They were curious to know how it works, and were impressed by the multi-functional timer. Some students commented that those are the ones used in high-tech gyms. I know our students will make the best of these equipment to increase their learning and improve their physical fitness.”
