• Noise Cancelling Headphones

• Drilling In New Learning Experiences

  Today I received the drill you donated. With the help of an extremely dedicated teacher's assistant, we have already assembled an easel, a book case, and a rolling cart, in addition to lowering the desk and chair height of two students whose feet previously did not reach the floor.

  The students were enthusiastic to be helpers in this work, eagerly awaiting for their turn to look at the diagram and to bring over a piece to help assemble our furniture.

• Fine Motor Skills

  School can be overwhelming for young learners, and the opportunity to take a sensory break can be crucial to keeping them calm and focused throughout the day. Sensory breaks are not just emotionally beneficial, however, they can also be highly beneficial to skill development.

  The sensory learning materials you provided allow my students to take a sensory break when they need them, and the resources selected allow this sensory break to double as an opportunity to work on fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, and grip strength.

  The liquid letters and sensory windows are already class favorites, and I have one student who is new to the class who INSISTS on keeping a bubbler on his desk at all times. These are truly amazing resources.

• Mess Free Art

  These resources have been an AMAZING source of entertainment for my students while they are awaiting their busses or after they have finished eating their breakfasts and lunches in our cafeteria. The students cannot wait to arrive at our table so that they may begin creating a beautiful work of art with their sticker pages! The children are working cooperatively to select a scene and to add characters and decorative details.

  This letter sounds sorting kit is AMAZING! Each letter tub contains six toys, replicas or small items (like real quartz!) that begin with the corresponding letter sound. The children have such fun looking at and playing with the toys and items that they do not even realize they are learning! Because my learners are all functioning at different levels, this kit is amazing as it allows me to scaffold the complexity of the task.

  For children just beginning to learn phonics, we can focus in on one letter tub only. I can ask the children to identify the objects in only ONE tub and identify the letter sound these items begin with. For more advanced learners, I can combine two tubs of toys and ask the children to sort them by initial letter sound. For very advanced learners, I can give them 10 toys from all different letter tubs and ask them to return the objects to the correct tubs. The possibilities are endless! Thank you for your donation, I know that this will be a huge benefit to my learners!”

• Sensory Art and Learning

  My ASD students love to explore the world with their hands. This sensory paint will allow my kinesthetic learners to deepen their understanding of how to form letters, numbers, and shapes by allowing them to draw, trace, and create impressions in the thick, foamy paint. The foam paints and brushes will allow them to explore cause and effect, and the stamps and rollers will allow them to explore and recreate patterns.

  These sensory art supplies will give my youngest learners a leg up as they learn new skills and an age-appropriate and safe way of doing so! Thank you so much for donating to our classroom, you have truly made a difference in the lives of my learners!”
