  • Paper Plates and Paper Towels

    Funded Aug 1, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation of paper plates and paper towels! We use these resources in my room DAILY, from instructional breakfast to birthday celebrations, wiping down high touch surfaces to cleaning spills. This year, we have also been able to begin our procedure writing unit by following the step-by-step instructions to make Halloween treats! This would not have been possible without your generosity.

Thank you on behalf of myself, my students, and their families. May all blessings come your way.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howard

  • Supplementing School Food

    Funded Jul 17, 2023

Thank you so much for funding this project. While there are many needs in my classroom, I am proud to be able to address hunger and inequity first and foremost. For my students who eat school lunch, the ability to feel confident that additional food is available if needed makes a huge difference in terms of anxiety, school enjoyment, and also self-esteem.

Although the cafeteria staff does their best, school lunch portions are limited and the menu for the day often changes from what is advertised online. If a preferred menu item changes or runs out, it makes a great difference for students to know they will still have a snack or a treat or even a meal replacement option.

Thank you for making this possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howard

  • Building With Playstix

    Funded Sep 24, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students love building with playstix and this resource will make a welcome addition to our Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) center! I cannot wait to see the wonderful projects the students will be able to create with these playstix! Thank you!”

  • Pencils And Pencil Cases

    Funded Aug 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! When my students return in September, it will be such a blessing to have these essential supplies I may provide them with. I know that this will help to get our year off to a strong start and will give parents a bit of additional breathing room at a time when many expenses are rolling in.

Many thanks from myself, my students, and their families!”

  • Ladybugs, Butterflies, and Ants, Oh My!

    Funded Jun 28, 2023

Following our earth study unit, my students were inspired to continue incorporating environmentally practices (such as picking up trash in the park, recycling, and turning off the lights) into their daily lives. This inspired me to tie in a theme of nature study into our science and literacy work, and the kits you invited have allowed me to bring this to life for my students!

The observation kits for ladybugs, butterflies, and ants have allowed my students to become junior scientists. They made predictions about how each bug could change from its larval state, they completed observation logs, they compared and contrasted between insects.

The students loved to be chosen "ant feeder" for the day, and delighted to release our butterflies earlier this week. (The ladybugs have just emerged, we will be setting them free on Friday when their exoskeletons have had time to harden.)

Thank you so much for bringing this science to life for my students.”

  • Vertical Storage Solutions

    Funded Jun 26, 2023

Making the most of our small space is essential in my classroom, which is sized for my students but not for the one-to-one paraprofessionals many of my students require to meet their academic and behavioral needs.

The vertical storage solutions you have provided - magnetic bins and clips, whiteboard pencil holders, and vertical paper caddy - will truly allow us to maximize our space without loosing valuable seating and floorspace. These resources will also help to ensure that all the students have easy access to the supplies they need without creating a safety or trip hazard in our classroom.

Thank you tremendously for your consideration!”

  • Watercolors

    Funded Jun 28, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to this project! We start our summer session tomorrow and this could not have come at a better time! My students will be delighted to work with these watercolors on our summer theme - 30 days of kindness! We will use them to depict ways of being kind to nature, to animals, and to our classmates! Thank you!”

  • Food for Hungry Students

    Funded Sep 28, 2022

This project made me a hero in my students eyes, and you a hero in mine. The students were SO delighted by the food you provided, and the quality and variety was beyond compare! (One student said she felt as though she had "won a shopping spree to a fancy grocery store.")

Allowing the students who needed additional food to supplement their free lunch with one snack a day made a huge difference in the students' temperments and level of focus. Knowing there would be enough to go around took away some of the anxiety surrounding lunch. We are extremely grateful.”

  • Storage Needed

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

The storage containers you have provided have helped to keep my classroom organized so that the students can access necessary materials and supplies independently. They have also helped to keep the food supplies that I bring in for our classroom cooking projects and the snacks I use to supplement school lunch to remain air tight, fresh, and free from pests.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated by our class! We are so grateful for your kindness and your philanthropy! Wishing all the best to you in the upcoming year!”

  • Stress Relief

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Many of my students struggle with emotional regulation. They, at times, have difficulty managing stress and also with ignoring distractions. This can make teaching and learning a challenge as, when one student is having an off day, it sets off a chain reaction in the classroom. One of the strategies students have been learning to manage stress is to squeeze a stress ball. Squeezing the ball activates muscles in the hand and wrist, and releasing the grip allows the muscles to relax.

The fidget bracelets and stress balls you provided are used by students in my class on a daily basis in times of emotional turmoil and stress. They are discreet, non-stigmatizing, and have been an amazing resource for my students in that they empower them to take action towards regulating their own emotions when they feel that they are becoming anxious or nervous.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful donation. It has truly made a difference in my classroom and for my students.”
