  • The Essentials

    Funded Aug 4, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation of paper plates and paper towels. The students in my class typically opt-in to instructional breakfast and these supplies are sorely needed to keep our classroom clean and ready for instruction after they have eaten. Your donation will help us to start the year off right! We are very thankful.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Niles

  • Play Based Learning at Lunch

    Funded Jun 6, 2023

Thank you so much funding this project! We are so grateful for the cabinet you have provided.

My students function best when given structure and support. Unstructured "down time" can be overwhelming for students in my class and is often when conflict and hurt feelings occur. On the other hand, structured cooperative learning opportunities allow the students to socialize, let loose, and be creative in a safe and appropriate way. The cabinet you have provided allows my students to engage in play-based learning at lunch - using a variety of resources and materials - at a time when they otherwise might get themselves into trouble.

Now, instead of sitting aimlessly after they have finished eating, my students can engage in artistic pursuits like drawing, beading, and crochet; complete puzzles; use modeling clay or play dough; build with Legos, Magnatiles, and snap bots; practice music on various percussion instruments; play chess, checkers, and other board games; the list goes on and on. This creates harmony in our class and develops needed social and emotional learning skills in my students.

Thank you for making this possible.”

  • Math Games

    Funded Jul 17, 2023

Thank you so much for these amazing math resources! As we prepare to enter the new school year, it gives me great confidence to know that I have these math enrichment activities at the ready. Math is a challenging subject for many students, and my capacity to make math learning concrete as well as fun will have a lasting impact on my students and their academic performance. Thank you tremendously for making this possible!”

  • Instructional Breakfast

    Funded May 26, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation of these granola bars and jerky sticks. The students selected this combination of foods as their preferred breakfast items, and they were SO EXCITED to see that the project was funded and these foods will soon be available.

My students have been opting into instructional breakfast at the expense of socializing with friends in the morning, and I am beyond excited to be able to reward them for their steadfast commitment to their studies. Thank you for making this possible!

May many blessings come to you.”

  • Play Dough and Playfoam

    Funded May 12, 2023

My students earn "choice time" after they have completed certain academic assignments, and a favorite activity they often choose is art. My students love to create works of art.

The play dough and play foam you have provided were a source of major excitement in the classroom. Students were eager to help unpack and sort the supplies, and many anxiously awaited choice time so that they may begin utilizing our new resource. This play dough and play foam will allow the students to express their creativity utilizing a reusable resource rather than a consumable one, and will be a great addition to our classroom.

    Thank you!”

  • Clean Class Carpet

    Funded May 11, 2023

My students are eager learners but, at times, have difficulty remaining seated. We try to be respectful of their various learning styles by making sure they are able to experiment with learning in ways that make them comfortable and respect a variety of cultural and household traditions.

The carpet you have provided allows my students to use our shared space for their learning needs, even when they are having difficulty remaining seated at their desks. Since its arrival, many students have taken advantage of this comfy and clean new rug and have done reading, writing, and even a sorting activity on the floor.

We are all so grateful. Thank you again for your support and patronage.”

  • Snacks, Snacks, Snacks

    Funded May 9, 2023

    All the students in m

y class are entitled to free school breakfast and lunch. While the students are very grateful to know that these meals will be provided, the current system can also produce a sense of inequity in our classroom. Some students are able to bring in snacks from home, and others are not. This creates a visible imbalance, especially on days when portions are small and the students are still hungry after eating the provided meal.

The supplies you have provided ensure that all students in my classroom are able to eat enough to satiate their hunger and minimize the inequity between students. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts (and our stomachs).

All the best to you and yours, and may your generosity be returned tenfold.”

  • Extension Cords and Surge Protectors

    Funded May 2, 2023

My older classroom has a paucity of outlets, which makes utilizing technology like our smartboards, laptops, and tablets quite challenging. Even our two classroom desktop computers are connected to outlets using a labyrinth of interconnected extension cords. The surge protectors and extension cords you have provided allow our class to plug in our electronics without fear of a power surge that causes us to lose work, and without creating a trip hazard which might cause injury to a student as well as damage to an electronic device. Thank you so much for the generosity you have showed us. May it be returned to you tenfold.”

  • The [Not So] Magic School Bus

    Funded Feb 16, 2023

My school services special needs students who often need to travel far beyond their own neighborhoods in order to attend our specialized school. They are entitled to yellow bus service, but their bus ride sometimes lasts more than an hour each way.

The lengthy commute to school is challenging for young students, and they require support and encouragement on the school bus to keep them occupied so that they may ride safely.

The coloring and sticker books you provided have gone a long way towards keeping the students engaged and safe on the school bus. We have heard positive reports from bus drivers and parents alike. Thank you so much for your kindness and consideration!

    Thank you!”

  • Maker Space

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

This cabinet is AMAZING. It is portable, so it can be tucked into a corner when we are not using and pulled out when the students need to access the materials. It has 10 HUGE compartments that are large enough to store all of the STEAM supplies we may need for any given project, it is sturdy enough to stand up to frequent use (and being leaned on or tugged about by less than gentle 5th graders), and it has clear bins that allow for clear visuals which makes identifying materials and putting them away a breeze. My class and I are so grateful to you!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
