  • Bubble Light Sensory Lamp

    Funded Feb 2, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! Many of my students have sensory needs and we have been working hard to meet them. The bubble lamp you have provided will be an amazing addition to our sensory space and I know that it will be a source of calm and relaxation for my students. Thank you!”

  • Instructional Breakfast

    Funded Dec 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous funding of this project! My students will be so excited to see that we are able to supplement instructional breakfast with these grab and go options that they have selected. It will be a wonderful motivation and excellent reward for the students who opt for the extra scholastic help! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Graziano

  • Engineering with Playstix

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Thank you for your kind donation to our classroom! Supplies like these make such a difference to my young learners. I cannot wait to see the achievements they will make in our STEAM work thanks to these playstix! I am grateful from the bottom of my heart and I know that my students will be as well. Happy holidays to you and yours!”

  • MangaTiles Animals

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

My early elementary students have been learning about animal habitats. As part of our STEAM instruction, I hoped to make these lessons interdisciplinary.

By providing my students with the requested MagnaTiles animals sets, you will allow them to participate in an interdisciplinary learning experience whereby they can research an animal and its habitat, design a habitat appropriate for the animal they researched, engineer the habitat they have designed - then immerse themselves in the habitats, combining like habitats, (artic, dessert, farm, etc) and allowing their magnetic animals to interact and play!

Thank you kindly for your generous donation.”

  • School Snacks for Young Learners

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

My students were overjoyed that this project was funded. While I have made requests for many big ticket items on Donors Choose, THIS is the project that has the most immediate and dramatic impact on my students.

Students cannot focus when they are hungry. Although they are entitled to free school lunch, because portions are a set size and menu selections change unexpectedly, students often complain they have not eaten enough in our school cafeteria. The ability to supplement the menu offerings with a selection of foods the students love make a tremendous difference in terms of their sense of safety and security and their focus. We are so grateful!”

  • Leveled Reading Library

    Funded May 7, 2022

Thank you so much for the leveled library you have provided. My beginning readers are developing and deepening their understanding of phonics, and the books you provided ensure that I am able to teach each child on his or her level.

Ensuring that children have access to a variety of books that are of interest to them and, most importantly, accessible to them is crucial in developing a love of literature and confidence in one's own reading capacity. I know that the "just right books" you provided will do that for my students.

    Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Graziano

  • Beginning Builders

    Funded Jul 17, 2023

My young learners love the materials you donated! As part of our STEAM instruction, (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics,) we have been building 3 dimensional structures and examining which features contribute to making these structures the sturdiest. Are they more stable with 2 legs, 3 legs, or 4 legs? With wide bases or narrow bases? Are they more likely to tip if they are shaped like triangles or squares or circles? If they taper at the top or at the bottom?

When we began this inquiry, the students were not confident in their capacity to build with anything except interlocking blocks. The materials you provided, however, have sparked their curiosity. My students are ALL now experimenting with a variety of different building materials - plastics, rubber, wood, and magnets - that many had not encountered previously. This has deepened their understanding of core concepts by encouraging them to think in new and creative ways, by providing opportunities to compare and contrast, and by allowing them to create new categories of information and determine which rules are generalizable across categories and which are not.

We are so thankful for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Graziano
