• Calming Area

  Thank you so much donors! Because of your kindness and generosity my students now have a designated area in their classroom to regulate their bodies, learn to calm down and learn about their feelings. My students are able to regulate their bodies by jumping on the trampoline. With the feelings books and dolls are we can learn about feels and start to be able to name them. Also, our table with the manipulatives gives my students sensory coping. All these skills that we are able to work on and learn are because of your kindness and generosity! • Storage, Storage and More Storage!

  Thank you donors for all your generous donations!! This means so much to me to have people donate to my classroom. Having all these storage boxes has really helped me set my classroom up and set my students for success in so many ways. I went around my classroom and started organizing the items at our centers. I then started taking pictures of the items and making cards of them. Now when my students go to play with something in the classroom, they can see what they are about to play with. When it is time to clean, my students can see where things belong because of the cards with pictures and words of the item. This has really helped with organization of the classroom and learning routines.

• There's No Place Like home...and School

  Thank you so much to all donors who helped get the cubbies into our classroom! Your kindness is truly touching and I appreciate it so much. When these cubbies first arrived to my classroom, I was thrilled that they were here! I immediately tore open the box and started thinking about where made the most sense for my students.

  Once I found the best spot, I started making them more appropriate for them. I made name cards with their picture so the students can see their name and picture of themselves so that way they would know this is their cubby.

  The next day when the students walked into class, I was so excited to show them where they were going to start putting their things. As the days have gone on since introducing the cubbies the students have responded so well. Some of they now come into class and go straight to their cubby put their pack back away.

• Solving the Puzzle One Piece at a Time.

  Thank you so much to all you wonderful and generous donors who helped get the puzzles into our classroom! Your kindness is truly touching. My students love working with the puzzles during their rotations during the day. I love watching my students work on the puzzles because I can see them developing so many skills that will help them so much.

  When they are picking up the pieces to the puzzle, they are building their fine motor skills. As they are flipping, turning, and wiggling the pieces into place they are building finger strength and problem-solving skills. I am excited to see how they will grow and develop these critical skills.

• Color Me Wild!

  Thank you so, so much for your generosity! I can't even being to describe the impact it has had in our classroom. Since receiving the paints, smocks, paint cups and dobbers we have been able to do so many fun projects! Our class was in charge of doing flag salute for the school so we were able to paint as a class and make a giant flag. We have been working on learning the first letter of our name and we have been able to use the dobber paints to make dots on the first letter of our name.

  My students were so excited to be able to use their new art supplies. The best thing has been watching them explore and create masterpieces through art. As they are creating and exploring, they are also working on their motor skills by holding a paint brush. They are also learning new words by talking about colors and using descriptive words to talk about their art work.
