Our Calming Corner
Funded Aug 2, 2023The Calming Corner in our classroom has become a haven for students seeking a break from the demands of the classroom. It serves as a sanctuary where students can reset their behavior and emotions when faced with stress or frustration. This space provides a much-needed opportunity for them to take a break, reflect, and regain their composure, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. The availability of fidgets in the Calming Corner has been a game-changer, as it incentivizes students to utilize this resource for self-improvement and self-regulation.
I am immensely grateful for the generous donations that have made the Calming Corner possible. Your donations have allowed us to create this invaluable space, dedicated to the well-being of our students. It is heartwarming to witness the impact of these donations on the lives of our students, as we help them navigate the challenges of school life. These contributions are a testament to the power of collective kindness and a symbol of the unwavering commitment to our students' mental and emotional health.”

Funded Jul 2, 2022Thank you so much for everything you do for teachers. Without people like you it would be very difficult to provide some of the classroom tools our students need in order to be more successful. Believe it or not, the play dough was very exciting for my 5th graders. I use it when working on spelling words and during science experiments (as pictured). My kids like to earn play dough time and roll it around. The white boards are used almost daily for whole class review of skills and revise games. The grid wipe boards are very convenient for my math students who are having difficulty keeping numbers lined up.
You may not realize the smile you put on teachers' faces or how much you are appreciated but THANK YOU!”

Mrs. Whitten's Classroom
Funded May 4, 2022The school year is in full swing and the kids are working hard. After the first week, we realized which children were not going to have all of their school supplies. Notebooks and colored pencils seemed to be what we were short on, so I am glad I had those to provide. All of the kids said "thank you" when I told them that donors had purchased both. I have also noticed that my ADHD students are misplacing notebooks (partly because they change classes and aren't used to keeping up with things). Having a small supply on hand is great!
The wobble chairs are a big hit, until they become a distraction. The kids earn the chairs by staying on task. I have 2 boys who are particularly fond of sitting on them.
Finally, the game buzzers and context clues game are making learning more fun. The students never realize they are learning when a game is being played. The buzzers are adding excitement to whole class review games like Science Jeopardy.
Your donations have been so appreciated my both me, and my students. Thank you for giving to our youth.”
