Power to the Period
Funded Jan 8, 2025Thank you for participating in this project with me. My students and I are grateful. They students were particularly excited to have access to feminine products without the need to ask other students and teachers. The clearly enjoyed having the autonomy to make decisions for themselves. We always undermine that power of autonomy and kids having the opportunity to make certain decisions such as being responsible for their hygienic wellbeing ; however, these things teaches them to be responsible and accountable. My students knew that we have a specific amount of pads so they took care of each other. They took what they need and when it finished, they knew who to ask for restocking. I am truly thankful that you helped teach my students these two skills beyond the classroom. They are learning and this could not have happened with support from generous and caring people like you. My prayer is that God bless you all for helping my students especially those who might be living in temporary shelters but were too afraid to ask for feminine products. In the bathroom, they can take as much as they need without judgment. Thank you so much and may God richly bless you all and your endeavors.”
With gratitude,

This classroom project was brought to life by A California Family and 4 other donors.Let's Talk About Periods.
Funded May 17, 2022First, I want to thank you so much for your donations to our project. The goal of this project is to give our students the confidence & facility they need during their time of the month. With these donations, our bio females will be able to feel comfortable acquiring pads instead of feeling the embarrassment of asking someone else who may not necessarily be their peers.
We provide the pads within the female restroom and our bio females respectfully take only what they need as they are aware that many other bio females are going through the same as them. Our bio females are impressed with this amenity and love the fact that the pads they have access to are pads that are comfortable and safe to use. They are also grateful for being able to have access to resources without going through the hardship of asking other people.
The next steps is to package the pads into a zip lock bags (each contains four pads each). We put four pads into each ziplock to ensure that every student who needs it will have access to it. We will place some of the pads in the bathroom. We will put more pads in the basket once they are used up. Student ambassadors will let me know when to refill the basket again with feminine products. Thank you! Not only is your contribution helping students but also encouraging them to take care of themselves and the people within their community.”
With gratitude,
Ms. O
