  • An Apple for a Teacher

    Funded Feb 14, 2025

Thank you for your donation. My students and I greatly appreciate your generosity. It takes a village and your contribution to my village is priceless. We are overwhelmed with gratitude. As the school year comes to a close and students are engaging in state testing and ACT testing. I will be able to conference with them privately one-on-one without disrupting the entire class. They are often eager to see how they did and having an iPad allows me to have these conversation form almost anywhere.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. ASHFORD

  • "Movin' on Up"

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

Thank you for your assistance with this project. I will be able to complete my room and replenish my supplies with your donations before the month of August is out. Although the school year has already started this will help make this run smoothly for the remainder of the year. I thank you and my students thank you.”

  • Rebuilding One Brick at A Time

    Funded Feb 9, 2024

The testing window has come to a close and I was able to use the snacks as an incentive for bootcamp. As an English II teacher students MUST pass the mandatory state test in order to graduate. During this time of year everyone is reaching their limit and being able to reward the student's hard work was vital. I put together snack bags and created both individual and group competitions. They were excited to win something for all their hard work and effort. They provided students with nourishment and energy to get through the long class periods and long school day.”

  • Laptop Learning for Success

    Funded Mar 8, 2023

I know that I am extremely late with my thank you note regarding the laptops but words can't express how handy this contribution was to my classroom. Issuing laptops to every child is a process and for what ever reason some families choose not to provide the necessary documents that allows their child to receive a device. When students came my class daily they were able to use the laptops I received from donors choose. I had one student who lost her father during the early months of the school year. Her mother was already deceased. She was in between relatives and couldn't get the necessary documentation to get a laptop. Having 3 extra devices allowed students the academic freedom to come to class and participate without hassle. We use platforms like Quizizz, Canvas, Study Sync, ELS, Plickers, etc. Students were even able to take test on the devices provided from our donors.”

  • Paint Off the Drywall

    Funded Jul 23, 2023

Thank you form the bottom of my heart...this will help make my room more welcoming and nice for my students. I know these supplies my seem insignificant but most times the rewards are in the smallest and simplest of things. Your donation allows me to provide a nice environment for my students to learn.”

  • "Shake It Like a Polaroid Picture, Hey Ya!"

    Funded Oct 2, 2022

When I created this project I really wanted to create a space or rather foster a community around highlighting students and their accomplishments. I wanted to create a way for them to celebrate each other. After printing my 1st picture and putting it on the classroom door the culture was created. Students often come to my door to look at the images time and time again. I have captured moments form fieldtrips, JROTC events, and everyday classroom shenanigans. Every once in awhile pictures come up missing because students are not used to having tangible pictures to hold and look at. On several occasions I've succumbed to their insistent request to print a pic or two for them.”

  • Reading From the Lions Perspective.

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Words can not express my extreme gratitude for you generous contribution. Again I wouldn't be able to add to my classroom library without you. It very challenging to get my students engaged with reading. Adding book like the ones I order will better help to engage them. It takes a village and we appreciate you doing your part”

  • Water, Water, Water

    Funded Oct 1, 2022

Jackson, Mississippi has been experiencing a water crisis and it has been an ongoing issue for students and families at my school. Oftentimes when you live in poverty you are confronted daily with lack. While it's one thing to lack money for a field trip, students shouldn't experience lack when it comes to safe drinking water. This project removed that barrier for my students. We were so thankful for the bounty we felt when our water project was funded. Our school has been blessed with water and throughout the year and without the Donors Choose donor's I'm not sure what we would have done to give students accesses to safe drinking water. Again, we are very much appreciative and this would not have been a success without you.”

  • You Have the Write to Know!

    Funded Nov 18, 2022

These classroom supplies are crucial for our students to perform in class without being restricted by what their family may or may not be able to provide for them. It takes a village and I can't thank you enough for being a part of our village. My students will be so excited when I deliver them the news.”
