  • Teacher's Making Teacher's Better

    Funded Aug 5, 2022

Thank you so much for all of the help with the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards. We have been utilizing them all year long to add quality content and activities to supplement our curriculum and allow the students more access to other topics and information. We are still going strong, and I want to also thank you for allowing me the opportunity to help support other teachers in their quest to share their activities with others.

The students have enjoyed the virtual field trips along with several place the states activities, among many other things.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James

  • Immersing Students In New Hobbies

    Funded Sep 4, 2022

Thank you so much for all the help in purchasing the items needed for our scrapbooking/junk journaling school club. I was able to introduce the students to a new way of art and self expression that they took and ran with! I had multiple students come back from Christmas break exclaiming how excited they were to get more supplies, stickers, and papers as gifts from family members. One Mom even sent a message thanking me for showing her daughter how to collage and journal. She used to just sit and complain about being bored all of the time, didn't have a lot of interest and was hard to shop for. She has really taken to this new hobby and they were able to bond over it at home and filled her stocking full of supplies. This has really made such a difference to so many of the students I had in my club, as well as their friends that they have introduced to it. I've had several students come to my room and ask for supplies to take home over the weekend. You will never know how many students you have touched and how many you have helped to create this new hobby. You have helped me provide them an outlet for self expression as well as a way to explore new things, for instance, a space collage could lead them to learning more about space, etc.

Thank you doesn't seem to be enough, but we are eternally grateful for your kindness and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James

  • Reading Rainbow Resources For First-Year Teacher

    Funded Jun 21, 2022

Thank you again so much for allowing my class the funds to purchase these books. The students love having a variety of books to choose from that touch on each of their interests and also allow them to explore and expand on new topics. The biggest benefit to having so many amazing books for my students is to help us explore and expand on our vocabulary skills. Through these books we get to learn words that we might not come across and then reuse them in our writing and apply them in our oral language skills as well.

Through this grant I was able to purchase some graphic novels on a variety of subjects that my anime students love! They love to drawn but are not the fondest of reading, with these books they are able to enjoy the visualization of the story more and still read and meet their AR goals each quarter.

We have DEAR time in class each day, where the students "Drop Everything And Read", they also read whenever they finish classwork early. We have floor pillows for them to move around and get comfortable on, as well as a window seat for them to access during reading as well.

Thank you again so much for all the help in meeting this goal for our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James
