The expression on my students faces when they were given the tools they needed to help them describe their emotions were priceless. The students made facial expressions out off play-dough and used play dough mats to guide them to complete their task. The students couldn't wait to share what they made and tell us how they were feeling.

We are all so grateful for your support. My students continue to use these supplies and we have seen significant growth in their social and emotional skills. Thank you again.”

  • Social Emotional Learning to Help Us Reach Our Goals

    Funded May 3, 2022

It is true when they say that "a picture is worth a thousand words". I read a book to my students called, The Mean Bean". The Mean Bean is a children's book about anger management, jealousy, and bulling. A book about emotions and feelings for kids. The mean bean was mean at home to her family and in school with her peers until one day a bean came up to her and told her that she was hurting everyone's feelings by the way she was treating everyone else. The mean bean did not like hearing about all the mean things she did. So the mean bean began to changed her behavior. She showed her peers and her family that she can be nice and express her emotions in a different way instead of acting out .

While I was reading the book my students, they were expressing many different emotions because of the way the mean bean was treating her family and friends. The students did not agree with her. When I was done reading I asked my students to show me how would they treat their family and friends. My students were able to express their emotions by using play-dough matts to show the way they were feeling at the moment. Some were happy, some were surprised and some were sad.

We are grateful for your donations thank you so much we really appreciate your generosity.”
