Fables and Folktales….Oh My!

I do not even know where or how to begin to let you all know the difference that you have made in the life of my students. They were so excite to look at and read all the Folk/Fairy Tale and Fantasy stories. They were reading parts, sharing with their peers and really enjoying what they were reading. I do not think that the photos do justice to the joy that you have brought to they.

In my class the children have at least 20 minutes of independent reading a book at their level. Then we discuss a particular theme or topic; currently we are working on Character Traits. Using sticky notes they mark pages in the books that show the character traits they want to share. Then after 20 minutes of independent reading they come back to the group and share.

There is no individual group of students that enjoy these books more than others, but I want you to know that all of my students are grateful first to be the first to look at a brand new book that is not falling apart and they can not believe the generosity and your kindness.
