  • New School, New Year, New Beginnings!

    Funded Aug 18, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! With this donation, I was able to use it for decorating and finding new, educational games to support my new first grade class. By creating a welcoming environment, my first graders felt comfortable and excited in their new learning environment.

I also bought various educational games to support my students with both ELA and math skills. I run daily ELA centers and finding games like matching rhymes or building a sentence has support my students' writing and phonics skills.

Again, thank you to everyone who supported me! I appreciate your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Meyer

  • Shh, It's a Secret!

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Thank you so much for your support in giving my class Secret Stories. These posters and flashcards have been incredible in providing phonics support for all of my readers. When I first set them up in my classroom, my students were excited and surprised. I explained to them that these are secrets we will be learning to help them grow as readers and writers. Now, everyday, I have students pointing out secrets in words we write or are asking for me to teach them a new story they are curious about. I cannot believe that I taught phonics without them.

Again, thank you so much for sparking curiosity and excitement in my first graders!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Meyer

  • Eye Spy a Sight Word!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation! We have started using Eyewords in our classroom and the students love them! Every day during our ELA time, I teach my students the word and the movement. My students enjoy pointing out phonics patterns in the words and like to say them throughout the day. We also use them as an exit ticket. I made an extra copy of our words which are displayed on our writing wall. As students leave the classroom, they read one of the words. I have already seen a major improvement in their sight word knowledge which is amazing! Again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Meyer

  • Teaching Beyond the Curriculum!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! The purpose of this project was to be able to purchase and use engaging activities on Teachers Pay Teachers. My students are enthusiastic learners who love participating in fun activities that challenge and support their learning.

With this donation, I have been able to purchase different activities. For ELA, I found an amazing resource that aligns with our phonics curriculum. Students practiced reading and sorting words based on its beginning letter. I have also used math games for center time like snowman addition board game, number sense cards for matching, and pattern block pictures for shape practice.

This donation has helped my students who struggle with ELA and math skills as well as challenged my students who have mastered first grade concepts. My class and I greatly appreciate you supporting our classroom learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Meyer

  • Creative Play

    Funded Jul 10, 2022

I just wanted to take the time to thank you for donating items for my students' brain bins. After receiving these supplies, I immediately knew that I wanted them to be used by students at the start of our day. Brain bins are a way to have a soft start to our day. For students who are experiencing trauma at home or struggling with academics, exploring STEM-based manipulative allows them to play and use critical thinking in a fun way. My students use these bins every day and are always telling me about the many different designs they have made such as a chair, boat, pulley, and spaceship!

At the beginning of the school year, when introducing brain bins, I could see the light shine in their eyes. They were so excited about having play be a part of their school day. Even though these use these bins at the beginning of the day, students are still begging me to use the bins during our fun Fridays at the end of the day.

I cannot tell you how much these STEM and literacy-based activities have shaped my students lives. Brain bins have been the talk of the class and I have parents asking what they are and how they are used in my classroom. Thank you for our generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Meyer
