Stellar Station Supplies
Funded Oct 19, 2023I am thrilled to share with you how technology has been making a difference in my classroom, especially for my special education students.
The use of headphones in the classroom has been incredibly beneficial for all of my students. They are able to engage in online programs like Lexia, which allows them to practice their letter names, sounds, and sight words. This has greatly improved their reading skills and helped them progress to their grade level. Additionally, they use math programs to strengthen their understanding of new concepts. These programs also provide virtual tutors that guide them through each step, ensuring they grasp the material thoroughly.
Not only do these headphones benefit the individual students, but they also enhance the overall classroom environment. By wearing headphones, each child can focus on their own work without being distracted by the sounds of their classmates' computers.
I must say, the most exciting aspect of this new technology is witnessing how my students have embraced it. Many of them have shown significant progress in their learning since incorporating these tools. It's truly inspiring to watch their confidence grow as they navigate the programs and achieve milestones.
While groups of students are using the new technology, I am able to use the whiteboard markers with my small groups to complete direct instruction and promote new learning with small groups of 4-5 students. They are learning below grade level content and need a lot of repetition to promote understanding and retention of these skills. I am so thankful that you chose to donate to my school and to support our students here at Sheridan. They are very appreciative.
Once again, I am sincerely grateful for your support and the positive impact it has on my students' education. If you have any further questions or would like additional information, please feel free to reach out.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Rasco
