A Diverse Classroom Library

Thank you so much for adding diverse books to our classroom library! Over the past year students have engaged in project-based learning units that integrate social justice and literacy. The books you helped purchase empowered students to deepen their thinking and make authentic connections to units about Teach Central America, the Black Lives Matter week of Action in Schools, and the 1619 Project.

Students have made especially profound connections to "This Book is Anti-Racist"; the options mean that students are better able to find books that reflect their identities and appeal to their interests. This is especially crucial as they work to explore themes around identity and resistance.
