  • Print, Copy, Scan: Materials We Need!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

    Having the luxury to print things without leaving our classroom is a rarity. Instead of having to race other teachers to the printer during my planning period or having to have someone watch my class for a second, I am now able to print things without leaving my classroom.

    There are many times my middle schoolers have "misplaced" their paper copy of an assignment. Before, if I didn't have extra copies lying around, this meant that the student would have to be working on a separate assignment. With the printer I have now, I am able to quickly print off a new paper and they are able to carry on with the same assignment.

    I also have the opportunity to print out more student work with my new printer. Therefore, the student work displayed in my room has now doubled with the help of the new technology. I am so excited to print, copy, and scan anything and everything now!”

  • Slow Down and Read: Notable Annotations and Flexible Study Videos

    Having the iPad and iPencil in my classroom has changed the way I teach drastically. In my classroom, I have students on multiple reading levels. I also have a variety of learning styles across each student. With this form of technology, I am able to walk through texts, show examples, and write notes with my students.

    Before I had the iPad, when wanting to put something up on the board, I would have to constantly stand at the front of the room, blocking the view for multiple students. With the iPad, I am able to freely walk around the room so the board is never blocked. I am also able to monitor student activity and manage behaviors.

    When doing assignments as a whole group, I will often give the students a chance to hold the iPad and write their answer to show on the board. This has sparked the interest of many of my students. They find it exciting to show their answers in this way. I am so happy I was able to receive this resource and it has had such a positive impact in my classroom environment. I am so beyond thankful for it!”
