  • Learning Phonics Through Sensory Exploration

    Funded Jan 13, 2024

    Thank you so much for your donation towards phonics materials for our classroom. The students were excited to see all of the new supplies. The students identified each letter of the alphabet, read the corresponding phonics books, and identified all the vocabulary words that begin with that letter. For each letter, the students selected a vocabulary word and created an art project using the foam sensory paint. The art projects were displayed using the magnetic/sticky tapes and glue that you also bought for our classroom.”

  • Autism Classroom Partitions

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

    Our students were very excited to receive these classroom barriers. They were also excited because they come in our favorite colors. These barriers are being used in the classroom to remove distractions, as safety barriers, and as room dividers. They are also used for privacy as they can be easily moved around the classroom. The next steps for our students is for them to request to use the barriers when they feel they will have difficulty attending to the task. We will continue to use these dividers all year for a variety of different activities.”

  • Summertime Splash Pad for Students with Autism

    Funded May 3, 2022

    Our students used these resources during our summer program. The students practiced changing into their bathing-suits independently. They practiced changing into their water shoes. They practiced entering the splash mat area safely. Students were able to go outside on a daily basis for the months of July and August to use the splash mat.

    When the students first saw the materials, they were very excited. They enjoyed using the splash mat as both a sprinkler and a pool.

    The next steps for our students is to use the splash mat again next summer.”
