  • Help Mrs. Deter’s Class with Math

    Funded Jul 15, 2022

    Thank you so much for your generous donation! In third grade we teach a unit on measurement. The math series that we have does not have all the materials that we need to teach the concepts correctly. The students do better with hands on activities. The pan balance scale and metric set and weights will help them see and understand weights. The tangrams will also help the understand shapes and how to manipulate them to make other shapes. When I showed the kids what they will be learning later in the year, they were excited! They also were excited to start using the headphones now. They fit third grade ears perfectly. Thank you again for supporting my class!”

  • Help Mrs. Deter’s Class Organize with AVID

    Funded May 26, 2022

    Thank you so much for your generous donation. My class this year is very excited for their AVID binders. We put them together and they are ready to start organizing. The binders, dividers, and clear sheets are making organizing their papers and desks a lot easier. The skills that they are learning will stick with them for a lifetime. When I brought out the binders and items the class was so excited. They felt like they we were big kids and ready for third grade. Again, the kids are learning skills that they will use well past their time with me. Thank you again from my class and I!”

  • Help Mrs. Deter’s Class Stay Focused and Calm

    Funded May 3, 2022

    Thank you from all of my kiddos at Southeast Elementary! We are so excited to be using our Calm Strips in our classroom this year. I started with giving everyone one strip on their desk. This makes it so one student doesn't feel singled out. I have seen such an improvement with behavior and how they are focused in class. I will often see them using the strips on their desk when they are thinking. This is such a great way for my students to stay focused. I really am excited to see how else I can use them.

    When my students first heard about the Calm Strips they were so excited. They really liked picking out the texture and the background they preferred. I was so happy for them! I am going to try to use the Calm Strips in different settings to see how they do.
