Learning English Is Fun!
Funded Feb 6, 2024Thank you for your generous donation, we are so grateful for our English Language Skill Building Centers/ Activity Cards, our play food, and magnetic tiles! Students are engaging in lots of conversations on Fun Friday when they engage in pretend play with food and tiles. In addition, students are building connections with other English language learners. We are using the English Language Skill building cards to supplement and support language development on a frequent basis.
When I first introduced the new materials with the students they were overjoyed! Students said things like,"Wow, tacos and tortillas, yo quiero jugar!" ( I want to play). Students also were eager to practice vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing on the new and attractive activity cards. The cards are great to use to meet student's individual academic needs.
Thank you once again for your kindness in giving our ESL students such great materials to learn from.”

Funded Dec 30, 2022Thank you for giving us our lovely library of books. My paraprofessional and I were able to have fun talking and reading about new characters in our holiday books. Children also loved the vivid illustrations in our books that focused on the concept of light.
Children in our class enjoyed reading the new books during center time at the library center. It was fun listening to children act out stories and talk about the things they noticed in books.
Some students were especially captivated by the new books and even asked for them be read over and over again in our library center. Thank you so much for imparting your love of books to our littlest learners!”

For the Love of Music...in PreK
Funded Sep 20, 2022We are so thankful for our bluetooth speaker, drum set, and egg shakers. We use our bluetooth speaker everyday to play fun songs that we dance to, our morning routine songs, and much more. During center time, students can go to the music and movement center and play the drums. We have also used the drums and egg shakers to follow along to different types of music.
Students were so happy to see our new drum set and egg shakers. Some students preferred to use the egg shakers, since they were not as loud as using the drum set. Once students understood that we could listen to all kinds of music with our speaker, they were so excited once they heard their favorite songs playing from the speaker.
We will continue to use the drum set and egg shakers throughout the school year at center time. We also listen to music everyday in class, since it is a big part of the PreK curriculum. We are so grateful for your donation!!”

Funded Sep 29, 2022"Build Our Dramatic Play Center" project has been a big hit in my classroom. When I first showed the students the new materials they were cheering and had big smiles on their faces. They were excited to tell me about what these new materials were and how they would like to use them. One student even reacted by saying, "I love school, this is the best day ever!"
My students are using the materials every single day at center time. The hair stylist role play costume, play telephone, pretend food, super wheels combo vehicles, play pans and more have been used almost daily. Students will take our dolls and give them hair cuts and blow dry their hair afterwards. In addition, students will call up their loved ones on our play telephone and serve their classmates play food to eat.
We will bringing out the rest of the materials that were funded in the project over the next month or so. As we are preparing for setting up a movie theater, the students know that our new cash register will be needed to run the concession stand. They are excited to start using it. In addition, we will add a vet costume to our dress up area, so that students can take care of our class stuffed animal, Gizmetti, which is a cat. We are so grateful for your generosity by being able to fund our project. Our students are learning to play, share, and create lasting memories through the use of our new materials.”
