Sensory Tools Initiative
Funded Sep 26, 2022My name is Lori Riggs. I am a Social Emotional Learning Specialist at Shorewood Elementary. Part of my job is to help children get what they need to regulate themselves. We know that once they have what they need, they are more equipped to focus on learning and their personal academic success.
One tool that can help them regulate and influence their academic success is alternative seating. The Kore Stools that you so generously gave our school are being put to great use. These stools are allowing students that need to move and usually have difficulty sitting to be able to move appropriately while accomplishing their tasks.
It is such a wonderful sight to see kids feel good about their accomplishments and succeed regardless of their needs. These stools are making it possible.
Thank you donors for making this possible. The lucky students that are using these stools are succeeding thanks to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With appreciation,

Funded Mar 28, 2023Wow! Thank you everyone! Our students and teachers will greatly appreciate these materials-giving these students a chance to improve their handwriting- such an important life skill. These students are working hard in so many ways- now they have additional resources to give them a boost! It is heart warming to know that so many folks are invested in their future.”
