Clucking and Hopping Our Way to Success!
Funded Sep 18, 2024Thank you so much for your generous support of our agriscience animal program! The new resources have truly transformed our classroom and the experience for both the students and our animals. The students were overjoyed when the materials arrived and had a blast assembling the new pins and setting up the grooming kits, leashes, and feeding systems. These materials have become an essential part of our daily activities, enhancing not only the students' learning but also the welfare of our animals. For instance, the new pins are safer and more hygienic, while the updated food and water containers have streamlined feeding time and prevented other animals from stealing food. It's wonderful to see the students' pride in caring for the rabbits and chickens with these upgraded tools.
One specific moment that stood out was the excitement during our first hands-on grooming session using the new kits. Students took turns brushing and tending to the rabbits, marveling at how professional and effective the tools were. The leashes have also allowed us to exercise the rabbits safely, while the new toys have kept both the rabbits and chickens stimulated and happy. These enhancements have brought a new level of responsibility and engagement to our agriscience program, inspiring students to take their animal care skills to the next level.
Looking ahead, we are channeling this enthusiasm into preparing for the Miami-Dade County Rabbit and Poultry Show in March. The students are working diligently to train the animals and refine their knowledge of grooming, feeding, and handling techniques. Thanks to your contributions, they are gaining valuable hands-on experience that will serve them well in the competition and beyond. Your generosity has not only made a tangible difference in our program but has also sparked a passion for animal care and agriculture among our students. Thank you again for being a part of this journey!”

Funded Apr 16, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity in helping to make this project possible. Students were able to use the lemon juice, cups, and sugar to make the best and most creative lemonade recipes. The students were beyond excited. We even had a few students that were not even apart of my class complete the Lemonade challenge assignment just for fun and present it to my students. This activity made students excited to learn and allowed them to see the real world application of their work. This school year I already have students asking if they will get to make the lemonade and granola bars. This is what education is about. Seeing students excited, willing, and eager to engage in learning. None of it would have been possible without the generosity of our donors. My students and I are very grateful! Thank you again!”
