  • Manga for Reading Mastery

    Funded May 22, 2024

Thank you so much for these books! Our students have already begun reading them and a line is already forming as to who will be the next to read the series. Our students do not have as much ready access to quality manga like this popular series, but they do now. This will go a long way to further rewarding their love of reading, Japanese culture, and graphic novels of all sorts.

Your kind donation will be a blessing on our students this year as we continue to prepare for STAAR and TELPAS. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Cormier

  • Reading Adventures for Teenage Minds

    Funded Jan 4, 2024

Thank you so much for the teen-engaging books! I've already had a huge uptick in student reading interest on these titles. As they roll in, students continue to check them out. You've done a lot here to increase these kids' collective interest in English reading which is an enormous challenge when dealing with teen readers with a background in other languages.

I expect even more attention for these titles as the road rolls further into the second semester and down time between testing opens the option for extra reading time and book-based projects. Once again, on behalf of our young readers here at our middle school, thank you so much for stoking up the class library with adventurous titles!”

  • Enthralling Reads for Our Anime Club Readers! Part 3

    Funded Aug 21, 2023

Thank you so much! On behalf of both my ESL students and our anime club, thank you. Thanks to your generosity, our emerging bilingual students and anime club members will have plenty of engaging reads to keep them exploring the English language. I cannot stress enough how important it is for students to work with materials and books that they actually want to explore. These books will go a long way to keeping our students reading, learning, and engaged with each school day. Your gift will make all the difference this year!”

  • Defining Literacy Needs: We Need Dictionaries!

    Funded Jul 12, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous gift towards our emergent bilinguals' English language literacy! Around state testing time in the spring, the school tends to pull school dictionaries from all of the classrooms to setup the tests. Not for our kids! Thanks to you, we have our own classroom set!

You've done so much with this gift. You've given the gift of easy access to the most trusted reference source students can have. You've given our kids every thing they need to explore reading at their own pace without fighting over who gets the dictionary. On behalf of my students, thank you for your kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Cormier

  • Enthralling Reads for Our Anime Club Readers! (Part 2!)

    Funded Apr 17, 2023

You did it! You made this possible! Your contribution to our Anime Club and ESL classroom has already engendered great interest in the ranks of our hungry readers and English learners. The books are still rolling in from Amazon and our kids are already busy scooping them up for a quick read. With these books we will have no trouble keeping our readers tuned in to English language reading activities and longer periods of silent sustained reading. These books will be put to the test very soon as we have full intent to utilize them for more book study and end of year reading projects. Once again, on behalf of both our emergent bilingual readers and our anime kids, thank you so much for your superb gift to the future of their life-long reading addiction!”

  • Enthralling Reads for Our Anime Club Readers!

    Funded Mar 29, 2023

Let's start at the beginning. Thank you so much for what you have provided our students with your generous gift! We have a mostly ESL population, teenagers at that, in our school and it is difficult to reach them with interesting reads to access their growing English skills. As manga and all things anime is huge right now in student interest, these books have already gathered much curiosity and interest. Both our ESL students and our anime club will spend hours on these. As you can see, they have already begun to delve the depths of each page eagerly. Your gift has made them happy, but, even more importantly, it has spurred an interest in English language reading that will hopefully extend over their lifetimes. Thank you again for what you have done!”

  • Thrilling Reads for Our Anime Club Readers!

    Funded Sep 15, 2022

Our anime club and ESL kids have shown a keener interest in reading in class than they have in the longest time! Your donations to our collection really made the difference this year. We've already had countless manga "jam sessions" over the last 3 months.

As we continue to progress towards the end of the year, our kids will embrace having this collection for both education and entertainment during the STAAR season and the end days of this school year.

Thanks donors like you, we will continue to progress in our love of reading and reading skills. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness!”

  • Moving and Growing for Our English Language Learners

    Funded Apr 12, 2022

Thank you so much! My students are in love with the stools, and most rush to class to call "dibs" on them. I've seen a slight increase in attention spans already in my more active students. From the start, they have been a huge hit. We may have to request more after their popularity. It has become commonplace to see students rocking on them while intently focused on their work, and contributing to their group projects and individual practices.

I've included photos of the stool and the thank you card my students made for you. Your kindness really has made an impact, and they are the hit of the classroom.”
