  • Math in Hand

    Funded Dec 19, 2024

Our classroom is so thankful for your donation. my students were so excited to see all the new math tools and use them. The dinosaur counters were a huge hit everyone wanted to use them. My students have been excited for math everyday to count the different objects and make new numbers. Before this donation we only had counting chips and the students were bored. Now they are excited to see which counting bin they get to use and everyone has enough so no one is sharing. I've seen their math comprehension going up and counting skills growing in just the last four weeks.

One of the biggest impacts has been a working document camera for my students. Being able to show my students in real time and zoom in on papers for them to see clearly has been invaluable to my classroom. My students can now see from their desk and work on a solid surface instead of a clipboard at the carpet. From the bottom of my heart thank you for this gift to my students. Your generosity will help my students for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dosil

  • Help My CVC Reading

    Funded Jun 24, 2024

The biggest smiles appeared on my students' faces when they saw me open our packages and I told them everything was for them. My students were in shock that they got to use all the items that were delivered. Immediately they wanted to touch and open everything.

Our counting boxes are used daily in our centers. Right now we are working on recognizing and counting items in class. This not only fits with our curriculum but also helps my students get hands on with their math. Being in kindergarten and told yes, you can touch is huge for them. They love counting planes, apples, and spiders to name a few. The locks are another big hit for math. Just understanding that two numbers can create one number is a new concept to many of my students. Finding the number is helping with my students' fine motor skills and number recognition. Those fine motor skills really help to develop those muscles in their little hands to improve their handwriting.

We have just learned four of our five vowels and the vowel sound activities are really helping to solidify my students understanding of short vowel sounds. For my higher kids they are loving the word pop activity. Anything that makes reading a game has my students hooked. In the spring everyone will be using all the CVC building activities and digraph tools. However, at the beginning of kindergarten I only have a limited few students that are that far along in reading. Nonetheless, the students who are using the CVC and digraph activities are improving with their word recognition and reading fluency. I cannot wait to have all my students using these tools daily.

I truly do not know where to begin by thanking you. These tools are going to help my classroom for years to come and give my students the resources needed to be successful in their reading. Having direct items for students to use during math and reading exponentially increases their concept grasp and retention of learning new skills. The success of my class this year and for years to come will not just be from me but from your gift as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dosil

  • Kinder Readers

    Funded Aug 16, 2022

The books in your donation have greatly impacted my students they were so excited to see new books in our classroom. Everyday they are using these books in our centers sharing pictures and stories with each other. The Eric Carl collect is by far their favorite collection of books. The vivid colors and simple stories have help my students imagination take flight in their writing. I use these books as examples of how art came done in many different ways and they can use this to inspire their own art. The light covers have added to a calming effect in our classroom. This calming effect is especially helpful to the students active minds and bodies. I can not thank you enough for giving the love of reading to my students. You have given my students so much more than you will ever know. Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

  • New Year Fresh Start

    Funded Apr 12, 2022

My students were over joyed to know they had all new supplies waiting for them as the year started. To have their very own pencils, crayons, scissors, and colored pencils was an amazing surprise for them. They immediately began pulling out their new supplies impatient to use them the first day. We have been using these supplies daily with assignments, centers, and arts.

So far this year my students have made cookie monsters, leaves for fall, drawings of themselves, characters from books, and created their own version of the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Everyday we use our writing journal and the ability to have a pre-sharpened pencil, with one on standby has been such a benefit for my students. Our new pencil sharpener is getting a work out with all our daily writing.

We can not thank you enough for your generosity! We are looking forward to using our supplies for even more art projects and to further develop our story building skills.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dosil
