  • Words of Wisdom- Writing Our Way to the Top!

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

I cannot thank you enough for all that you have contributed to our literacy program. Teaching students with special needs can be challenging yet rewarding. We are using the materials from Donors Choose to help us become better readers and writers. Since we were lacking in resources, it was difficult to come up with ways to be creative in daily writing activities. Now, we have the sentence strips, index cards, pencils and other materials to help move us along and help improve our reading and writing abilities. To be better readers and writers we need to practice each day. I push and push students to perform the best they can and you have helped us by securing the necessary materials we needed in order to have a literacy rich environment.

Thank you for being with Donors Choose and helping teachers all over the country. Without the help of your generous donations, it is an additional burden on teachers.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Santiago

  • Sweet and Salty Summer School Snacks

    Funded Jun 15, 2023

We cannot thank you enough for your summer school snack donations. Summer School usually drags for some of our students. It is important to feed our brains while we work and these snacks help keep us energized and invigorated within the classroom.

Usually in the afternoons, as we have full school days in the summer, we get hungry again after lunch and need a snack to keep us working. Its fun to work towards a fun filled snack in the afternoons as we have six weeks of summer school.

Thank you again for your generous donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Santiago

  • Growing as Readers and Writers

    Funded Aug 12, 2022

Thank you for all your generous donations to our classroom this school year. You truly helped our students grow as readers and writers as evidenced by their portfolios and classroom assessments. You helped transform our classroom into a positive, hands on learning environment which was colorful and lively. It's a fun place to be and students enjoyed coming to school and learning about the variety of fictional and nonfictional texts available in our classroom. Their writing has improved as well from the onset of the school year until now. Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Santiago
