• Helping Hands: Restocking Our Classroom Needs

  As a teacher, I always strive to create the best possible learning environment for my students, but sometimes resources can be limited. With the pencils, hand sanitizer, anchor chars, I have been able to facilitate my students' learning.

  When the materials arrived, my students were absolutely thanful. For some unknown reason, our pencils go missing. Such a simple item, is greatly appreciated in my class. It's all because of people like you who believe in the power of education and are willing to support young learners.

  We use the snacks as part of our classroom store, which operates as an incentive system. Students earn points for positive behaviors such as completing assignments on time, participating in discussions, and supporting their classmates. Once a week, they get the opportunity to "purchase" items from the store. Your contribution has significantly enhanced this experience by offering a wider variety of snacks, which has made the store a highlight of their week. This system has improved classroom management immensely, as students are eager to engage positively and meet expectations to earn their rewards.

  I will never forget the moment the snacks arrived. The student reactions ranged from gasps of delight and bi o smiles. One student remarked, "It's so cool that people we don't even know care about us."   Currently, we are working on an interactive classroom project that ties into their rewards system. As we read Romeo and Juliet in our 9th-grade class, students earn points for acting out scenes, crafting creative responses, and participating in group discussions.

  Looking ahead, the next steps for my students involve deeper explorations of Romeo and Juliet, where they will analyze the themes and characters more critically. We're also planning a culminating project that involves creating modern adaptations of key scenes. The snacks will continue to play a pivotal role, encouraging participation and rewarding effort throughout this process.
