Extra Support in Mastering IEP Goals
Funded Feb 9, 2023Thank you so much for helping us get the supplies needed to help support our students progress with their IEP goals. We have been able to use varied reading levels for reading comprehension which helps us to see how students are progressing through their reading IEP goals. By having books that provides ways to scaffolding writing for our students, our students have been able to progress with their writing IEP goals. For many of our students, having access to varied manipulative and tools for math has helped them progress with their math IEP goals. Thank you again so much for donating to our cause, we are eternally grateful!”

Funded Oct 28, 2022My students have been having a blast learning Spanish! The students were so excited to have more materials that would make learning Spanish more interesting. The students were also happy that we had better headphones to help them hear more clearly when they work on their Duolingo lessons. Their favorite item we received from DonorsChoose is the Loteria game! Not only do the students practice speaking in Spanish as they play loteria and other games we have received, but it also helps the students to work on the socio-emotional goals as well. We are very thankful for all the support as we work on our Spanish!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Arizona Department of Education and 3 other donors.Exploring History Through Virtual Reality!
Funded Mar 25, 2022Thank you so much for supporting us in obtaining an Oculus for us to use the classroom. We have been able to utilize virtual reality in the classroom to help us explore history and the world in a fun, hands-on approach way. This allow students to use more of their senses as another means to help the students stay engaged. The students are able to watch a fellow student navigate virtual reality, while taking turns and helping each other as they learn how to use this new technology.
For many of my students, they do not have access to this kind of technology. Some do not even have a computer at home. The students have been fascinated on how VR technology works, that this has sparked their interest in a possible career in technology. For other students, to "feel" like they are able to experience the world has given them hope that one day they will get to travel. I have many students that have not traveled outside of the state of Arizona and have never been on a plane. By using this technology, students are able to "explore" the world that they did not think they would have the opportunity to visit.
Thank you all so much for allowing us the explore our world within our classroom!”
