Fun Reads
Funded Jan 21, 2023With these new additions to our class library, we are able to explore characters they enjoy. See the character development throughout several books allows the students to tap into multiple aspects of their reading skills. Skills like recalling main ideas, sequencing details, identifying specific details using examples from the text and making predictions.
In our classroom, reading is a sacred time that we use to cool down and step into a fictional world. Coming in from a transition, we turn off the lights and set a stargazing night light. This allows students to get into the reading mood and begin their journey.
There are defiantly students that are engulfed in the books. They have started the series but after finishing their own book, had no way of reading the other books in the series. These new books have allowed them to keep their interest alive in the books and invested in the characters.”
