1st Grade Treasures!
Funded Aug 6, 2022The resources that have been donated to my classroom have been used throughout the school year for incentives and prizes. In our class, students can earn points that they can accumulate to choose a prize as a reward for their diligent efforts. This has allowed me to reinforce positive behavior by giving students a physical incentive that encourages them to do their best.
When I first showed students the prizes that had been donated, they were extremely excited! They loved the variety of rewards available for them to choose which caused them to want to work even harder to earn more points in class.
Thank you for your donation to our classroom! It has made such a positive impact on my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Weeter
This classroom project was brought to life by Holiday Oil and one other donor.Snow, Snow, Go Away!
Funded Jul 1, 2022Thank you for your donation towards this project. Since receiving the indoor recess games and activities, we have had several opportunities to use them. It not only has helped us on days that it has rained, but it has also helped me train my students to work collaboratively with each other. We used them at the beginning of the year to get them to interact with one another and as a way to provide a brain break. They have thoroughly enjoyed the resources donated, and it has been so fun to see them be so creative.
When I showed them the resources donated at the start of the year, they were elated. They love to build and create things, so many of these resources have allowed them to do just that. They are always excited to call me over and show me what they have created as a group.
As we approach the winter months, these tools will become especially important and necessary as a way to give students a break from academic rigor and allow them to express themselves in creative ways.”

1st Grade Classroom Library
Funded Jun 20, 2022Again, I appreciate your donations to make this project possible. As we have started the school year, my students have been able to engage in various texts made possible by this project. Many of my students range in their reading ability, and the books donated by this project allow each student to find something suitable for them.
Every day we take time to do silent reading time where students are able to engage with a text and practice their reading skills. Although they may not be able to read each word, they are lost in the books they read! It is one of their favorite times of the day. The books in my classroom library have made it possible for them to stay engaged during this time and find books that interest them individually.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Weeter
