Reading Fluently
Funded Aug 27, 2022Thank you so much for the donation! With your help, I was able to purchase multiple levels of reading games that are fun and engaging to help my students improve their basic reading skills. These games include sight word practice, sound recognition and building words. We use these games multiple times a week during our small group reading time. When our package arrived the students were so excited! Even after using the games for a few months now the students excitement is still there and they ask to use the games daily.”

Funded Mar 13, 2022The power pen math games have been a great addition to my classroom. These resources (addition facts, subtraction facts, multiplication facts, division facts, telling time and fractions) have allowed me to differentiate the learning for each of the students in my classroom. Some of the students needed to work on multiplication facts, addition facts, subtraction facts and division and these activities allow each student to focus on their own individual needs and gives them instant feedback on their work in a very fun, independent and exciting way.
When my students and I first opened the box they were amazed that there were so many sets. They were amazed that they could work on their skills and not have to share the games at the same time. Once we were able to get everything opened and working the students instantly fell in love with the product. Everyday the students ask to work independently with the power pen games. It is a great motivator in the classroom.
Through this project I have seen my students make great progress in their recall of basic math facts. Through building their math fact fluency it has transferred over to other math standards and have allowed the students to master those skills because they are not getting hung up on figuring out simple math fact steps.”

Ms. Nickels
