Meeting the Need Through Choose Love

On behalf of myself and my students, I would like to express how thankful we are for all of the items we received. Your donation was used to bridge the learning gap and also to address the social emotional needs of our students.

Our students are very grateful for the headphones and chair bands. The headphones are used everyday as students log onto iReady (a supplemental educational program), read books, or watch videos on their iPads. The chair bands support students that feel the need to move their feet or fidget while at their desk.

The items were also used for students to show what they've learned through Choose Love, which is our school's social emotional learning program. The students have created artwork to show what makes them brave or to express all of the things they are grateful for. They were especially excited to use the hand puppets to act out situations and practice forgiveness. The students have also posted their art on a website to share with our families and school community.

Lastly, my special education students used the Play-Doh tools and gel boards to increase their fine motor skills. They are always very excited to use these items which makes learning fun and engaging!”
