Dystopian classroom book clubs for seniors
Funded Feb 24, 2023My seniors loved their dystopian book clubs. They enjoyed learning and discussing what makes up dystopian and utopian societies. After reading and discussing their novels they wrote out the dystopian laws for their books and then what laws they would like to improve the life / society of the characters. Lastly, they created bumper stickers with slogans that pertain to their books.
It was wonderful to see the students get excited about discussing their books. My heart was happy knowing that my students were enjoying reading and the projects that went with it. It was definitely one of their favorite units.
Thank you again for your generosity.”

Books for Classroom Book Clubs
Funded Jan 17, 2023I am happy to announce that I have great news! We finally have enough funding to make these classroom book clubs happen. Tenth grade will be doing a Holocaust book club and 12th grade will be doing a dystopian one. I am so excited and I know my students will be as well. We greatly appreciate you support and help.”

Finding a Zen Life after Covid
Funded Aug 25, 2022Thank you for your donation. The students were thrilled to receive the yoga blankets, floor pillows, and art supplies. All of the new items have been greatly enjoyed and have made a big impact on their mindfulness and meditation practice. The students love using the calligraphy pens, markers, and coloring books to practice mindful coloring. Their artwork has made our classroom more colorful and cozy. The yoga blankets and floor pillows allow them to chose if they will meditate sitting on the floor or lying down. Our new items have helped create a more peaceful, zen environment for our mindfulness classroom. Thank you again!”

Love for Literature
Funded Mar 12, 2022My students love the improvements that have been made to their English classroom. They enjoy their flexible seating options. Students can now choose between a sofa, floor pillows, comfortable seats, or the traditional school table and chairs. They also enjoy sitting in the class library area where they can quietly read. Four bookshelves hold many genres of books. I have some students visiting me between classes so they may check out a new book to read! It makes my heart happy to see my students wanting to be in my room and finding it a peaceful, positive learning environment. I look forward to hearing about the books they have currently chosen to read.
Thank you for helping my students learn to love and appreciate literature!”
