Flex Seating
Funded Dec 12, 2024My students are thrilled to have flex seating in social studies class. They just took a survey and are now able to follow a schedule of when each of them get to sit in the bean bag chair, gamer chairs, and use the standing desk. Everyday all of them will have easy access to the bouncy bands that are installed on every desk. They each also can use a pillow at their desk either on the bottom of their seat or at their back to help make their seat more comfortable. They also have access to the "wiggle seats" that they are thrilled to have!”

Hands on Learning for Overcoming the Pandemic!
Funded Aug 22, 2022My students have been reading like crazy thanks to the books that have been donated to our classroom. They are also loving the use of clay and the tools that were part of this project. The globes are their favorite item, though. The students look at them everyday to think about the world beyond our classroom.
When they saw that we had new globes, they celebrated by raising both hands in the air and shouting an authentic "YAY!". They knew that our new globes would have accurate political lines and also topographic information.
My sixth grade students, who are studying ancient civilizations are the top students to benefit from this project.”

Funded Mar 8, 2022My students spent an intervention class reading March: Book One. They were able to understand the accounts of eye witnesses even better as the graphic novel outlined various events in the form of a narrative. Students loved this format as it is familiar to them. Also, the page protectors have been vital for providing ways for students to interact with checklists we use often during social studies class. Star Girl was another favorite of our intervention hour. Students could easily relate to the main character from Arizona as she experienced high school. It really helped us talk about character choices as eighth grade students came closer and closer to becoming freshmen. The biggest takeaway from the book was how to choose friends that will support the future you wish to have as a person.”
