• A Book Is a Dream You Hold in Your Hands

  Thank you so much for the large array of books! My students were so excited when we opened the boxes together to see what we got. Providing my students with a large classroom library filled with a wide selection of different texts helps me toward my goal of building up a classroom of lifelong learners.

  The curriculum my building currently uses for ELA is filled with many novel studies that are dated or unrelatable to my students. I try to make these skills and lessons more accessible to them by switching out texts provided by the curriculum with current and popular children's literature. This largely helps with engagement and retention. Due to your generosity we now have many more options to use for mentor texts and book clubs!

• Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader

  I cannot begin to express the impact you have made on my classroom with your donations! My students have been reading more than ever before. I have always believed that the best way to build good readers is to give them time to read books they enjoy. With all the current and popular books you have helped me add to my library, my student's passion for reading has skyrocketed.

  Giving my students daily independent reading time to relax and enjoy a good book has always been difficult with the demanding standards of 6th grade and limited resources. Using the books you have helped fund and by giving my students at least 15 minutes a day to read books of their choosing independently has already increased many of their reading scores and proved to be a truly valuable time within our classroom.

• Time Magazine Subscription

  Thank you so much for the TIME magazine subscription. As a school that focuses heavily on reading and math skills, this resource has been wonderful to use to explore current events and social studies content while still targeting reading and comprehension skills. My students have really enjoyed reading and exploring the topics and events in these articles.

  While some of these articles feature topics my students are familiar with an and can connect and elaborate on, many of them also feature ideas that are new to my students and have sparked amazing class discussions. The AI articles and Hero's Journey are a couple of our favorites so far. The resources that are included digitally have also helped me with planning and prep time by providing me with materials that are ready to go and take little to no prep.
