Funded May 9, 2022We have finally reached the point in our curriculum where I am beginning to introduce the students to the different Engineering technologies. Later in the year we will be doing a deeper dive into scanning and eventually leading into 3D printing. I am hoping to start printing some of our students 3D scanned objects.
Currently we have reviewed the requirements and specifications of the scanner. As a group, we've learned that black and high textured objects don't scan properly; therefore, when we attempt to scan the student's faces it did not capture the hair. I gave the students a list of criteria and constraints and asked the them to bring in items to scan in class.
My class was collectively shocked by the existence and performance of the scanner. The questions came in fast and we took the opportunity to research the answers to their questions.
