After School Cooking
Funded Mar 15, 2023Students are having a blast using the cooking supplies! Our first lesson was making a pico de gallo salsa. During this lesson, students learned the basic cooking skill chopping. They had to practice using the knives to chop onions and tomatoes. As we are all still learning how to use the supplies and it was some students first time cutting anything, the cutting boards and aprons came in handy to prevent messes.
When we first got the materials, students were so excited to start cooking. They asked me every single day when they were going to be able to start using them. Even, after our first cooking lesson, they want to get back into cooking and make their favorite foods.
Our next lessons are student suggestions. We want to dive into baking where we can start learning exact measurements and fractions.”

Listening Center for Kindergarten!
Funded Apr 5, 2022Thank you so much for your contribution to make a listening and writing centers for my kindergarten classroom.
The students have benefited so much from these centers. They are able to listen to a book together as a group to develop reading skills and vocabulary.
I also obtained a writing center organizer. This has stimulated the creativity within students because everything is laid out in front of them and easily accessible. They love to take paper and make crafts. It has also enabled them to easily obtain writing tools like pencils, erasers, paper, and crayons easier. This has made students more efficient and less frustrated in class.
Both of these centers have given my students the opportunity for hands on learning, They are excited to use them and even more excited to learn and practice reading and writing.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Roldan
