  • Classroom Supplies

    Funded Apr 12, 2025

My project was fully funded just in time for the freshman unit where we study Romeo and Juliet, the sophomore unit where we study Oedipus, and the junior unit where we study The Crucible. Thank you so much for your generosity. My students and I are truly grateful for your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hoyt

  • Mrs. Hoyt's Classes Need Some Refills!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for your support of our classroom. Students often ask where I got certain things in my classroom and often it is from the generosity of people like you. They are always blown away and encouraged to know that people who don’t even know them want to support their academic journey. I look forward to taking pictures of your gift in action and showing you how you have impacted lives of real teenagers here in Indianapolis.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hoyt

  • Everything is a Game.

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you for helping my students to engage in Oedipus and The Crucible. We appreciate your support in making our classroom inviting and learning a joy.

Salem is a game that takes students into 1694 Salem and pits them against one another in a "witch hunt." They see the power of accusation and fear and it sets the tone for them to understand and enjoy the classic play by Arthur Miller.

Herd Mentality and Sounds Fishy get students comfortable speaking in front of the class. They engage in critical thinking and prepare to act out a part in Oedipus Rex.

Again, thank you for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hoyt

  • Building Bridges

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

The impact of this project has been huge! I have had many colleagues and students ask about names they read on the wall of fame. The struggles in our work are great and many, but the memories of lives intersecting and gains made together are the reasons we stay. We all need reminders of why we do this, and a wall of 15 frames (and counting) is hard to miss.

I started this thinking it was to motivate students, but I kept sifting through boxes of papers and cards and fliers because it was motivating me to keep telling the story of how amazing it is to be a teacher. The one who really needs this wall is me. It reminds me of where I started, how I got here, and where I'm headed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hoyt

  • 10 Souvenirs and Snacks Project

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

"Snacks and Souvenirs" was my first Donors Choose project, so I didn't know what to expect. Much to my surprise, it was fully funded in less than two weeks. Go, Mr. Bogan from the ATHS Class of 1993, and GO, TITANS!

I've used the snacks and supplies in my class store in PBIS. Students earn points from teachers and staff for being Thoughtful, Excellent, Committed, and/or Honorable and can redeem their points in any of the stores around campus for all sorts of items they want and/or need. It's gratifying to see wise choices rewarded every day.

Thank you for helping me make my classroom a welcoming and inspiring place for a portion of the Arsenal Technical High School Class of 2024!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hoyt
