  • Literacy Games for Kindergarten Students

    Funded Feb 7, 2025

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I needed a more independent task for my literacy groups and these Lakeshore file folders have been a game changer. My students love these and ask to use them all the time. At first, it was a little bit of a lift as I had to teach them how to use them but once they understood how to play, it became easy. It has really added another fun rotation to my classroom.

If you were to ask my class what they think, they would say it is so much fun! They ask me all the time to play even when it is not literacy centers. Each file folder game has been beneficial to all my learners from my students who are still learning their letters to ones who are reading. I cannot thank you enough for supporting our youngest readers!”

  • Help students get supplies for upcoming school year

    Funded Aug 8, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom! All of our supplies made a smooth start to the school year. The nameplates got us started off right away with being able to put students in desk spots. I use the dry erase pockets daily! The laminator came in handy when we needed to laminate small projects and didn't need to use our big laminator.

I truly appreciate your kindness and donation to my classroom. We have used all these supplies mostly daily since the beginning of the school year.”

  • Help my class get some of the basic supplies!

    Funded Jul 23, 2024

THANK YOU! THANK YOU so much for funding my project. It was so amazing starting the school year off with some school supplies. We use the dry erase markers daily! And it has been so great to have enough for each student. We go through dry erase markers super fast in kindergarten. I have used the laminating sheets to get stuff laminated for the school year from new center activities to laminating student name tags. My students have loved using the color of the world crayons, some of them have even said, wow this matches my skin color.

These supplies have brought joy to my classroom. Thank you for your donation! We will continue to use the supplies for as long as we can this school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Onpeng

  • Representation Matters: Multicultural Books for Classroom Library

    Funded May 15, 2024

Thank you so much for funding my project! At the beginning of the school year, I was able to do an overhaul of my library and get rid of books that no longer fit into our classroom. I was able to replace them with new beautiful books that are more inclusive of my classroom. I have been able to read aloud many of the books and the students have explored.

I love seeing their excitement over new books. They love looking through the books and seeing themselves represented in the stories. I am so happy that my project was brought to life thanks to the Loft. I cannot thank you enough for your generous support of my classroom. Representation really does matter and seeing the smiles of my students tells me that I am heading the right direction. I hope that this truly starts to foster their love of learning. Again, thank you for supporting my initiative of building an inclusive library.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Onpeng

  • Replenish Some of our Class Supplies!

    Funded May 10, 2024

Thank you so much for funding my project. I cannot thank you enough for replenishing my classroom supplies. Since the beginning of the school year, we have used our headphones for our math testing. My students love having working headphones. Last year was a struggle with trying to find working headphones for each student. I am so happy that we have a class set this year and I do not have to worry at all.

Since I teach kindergarten, we go through crayons like crazy every year. We always ask for crayons but it is not never enough. In the past, I have bought more crayons and I am so happy to start the school year off with crayons and I will not need to buy more supplies.

We have no used the markers yet this school year but I know that it will be well used. I usually introduce markers a little later in the school year. My students always get so excited when we get out the markers. It is a special time for them. And again, teaching kindergarten, you end up going through supplies a lot quicker.

I appreciate your support of my classroom. I am just happy to have new supplies this school year. It has been a great start to the year. My students no longer need to wait for a working headphone but instead have their own working pair. Thank you, thank you!”

  • Social Emotional Learning Books for Kindergarteners

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation in getting my project funded.

My students absolutely love our Dragon books. And we actually read them every Thursday. The kids call it "Diggory Thursdays." They get so excited to see what new book we will be reading. It has been so much fun watching the kids get excited over a book series. And having them learn new skills that they otherwise wouldn't get in the classroom. It has been worth dedicating about 10-15 minutes after lunch every Thursday to read these stories. I think we were on a field trip on week and the kids were sad that we were going to miss our "Diggory Thursday."

In particular, we just read "The Bossy Dragon" and now my students will tell each other if someone is not being nice and being bossy. And we have talked through the different ways we can talk to each other and that your tone of voice really matters. They have used many of the skills in our classroom and I am so happy that I can help them with their social emotional learning.

Thank you again for your generous donation. Just know these books have created a lot of excitement when it comes to reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Onpeng
