STEAM Bins in Pre-K
Funded May 8, 2024My students, co-teacher and I are so grateful for your support. We use the STEAM bins every single day during our small group instruction. During small group, most of my colleagues split their 20 student class into two "small groups" and teach targeted lessons. The STEAM bins have allowed my co-teacher and I to break our class into four groups. Two groups stay on their tables letting their critical thinking skills take over while staying engaged using the manipulatives you all graciously donated. That allows my co-teacher and I to pull a small group consisting of 5 students each. I cannot begin to explain how much of a difference it has made for us to focus on our small groups while our other students stay super engaged. We have already seen how much better we can differentiate and cater to our students needs because a smaller group is much more manageable.
As you can imagine, my students were thrilled to get new materials! I was too excited myself to get pictures of the unboxing but I want you to think of Christmas morning for 20 four year olds- and that it exactly what it was! It has already been close to 10 weeks since my students have started using the manipulatives and they still have not lost the newness to them. In addition to small group, we have also used the materials you donated during our math lessons. I truly cannot express how much of a difference you have made in my classroom this year! From the bottom of my heart, I hope you get two fold of what you donated to us.”

Funded May 16, 2022I want to start by thanking you for your generosity. The Title I school I work for serves mostly underprivileged students. In my Pre-K classroom, I have students who have never been to a public library or have access to a reading space at home. Because of your generosity, my students have a comfortable space to read and develop those pre-reading skills that are so important at their age. Your contribution has potentially changed the lives of young children, who could fall in love with learning by the simple fact of having a reading space in their first classroom. Thank you for changing the word one classroom at a time!”
