As a STEAM enrichment teacher, I educate students both in-person and remotely. One component of STEAM is technology. Unfortunately, my students do not have access to computers or electronic devices in their classrooms, which limits resources. I want to be able to use technology during my lessons to target my student's diverse learning styles, as well as, promote a variety of content areas. I am interested in getting an iPad for my students to use during their center explorations. They will be able to have access to interactive Google slides, watch educational videos and I can provide my ESL students with access to multilingual resources. I also plan on using the iPad to record my students completing a variety of tasks. I will then be able to show other students how there are multiple ways to execute a task. Creating educational videos with my students will help them support their classmates learning processes, as well as their own. During these in precedented times, we need technology more than ever! Teaching remotely, allowed me to see the importance of this. The use of technology will also allow me to better assess my students and track data. For teachers, this is extremely important. Data helps drive instruction and allows us to modify our lessons to help students meet their individualized academic needs. Having an iPad will help me implement additional resources in many classrooms and will also help me capture on-the-spot evidence of student learning and growth.
