As the school counselor, I hold small group counseling sessions in my classroom. During these sessions, we discuss safe coping skills, friendship goals, and process emotions. I love having students come to my group sessions and feel it is a great place for them to feel safe and work through things that have been impacting their academic and social lives. Currently, the group space is made up of mismatched chairs that are too big for some of the smaller students, and uncomfortable for all of the students. It sets up a barrier to being able to physically relax while we discuss these important topics. I would love a space that provides comfort, color and a sense of group belonging. I feel the LakeShore seating will help provide this.
