When my special education students are working during class, they tend to have a chat here and there because pure silence freaks them out. This usually causes my students to lose focus and concentration. Allowing my students to listen to headphones while working, limits the need to talk to other students about personal stuff during class. This also allows my students to work in complete silence if they need to. Being a SPED Teacher, confidential files need shredded daily. Pencils, copy paper, scissors, and tape are used to complete many daily educational projects /assignments.
